There were insects; also I woke up with red rashes only to realise much later that there were bed bugs (some of which I ended up carrying with me!!!)

The location was absolutely beautiful and so was the property! The staff were really kind and nice!

The swimming pool was quite dirty and the food in the restaurant was pretty bad. We had biryani veg and with chicken which were not very tasty and far too much koriander. The murgh tikka was the worst we had in India.

The hotel has very spacious and nice rooms with a good bed and is close to Orchha. We had a nice view on the river

The room lacked a fridge. The bathroom was basic but adequate. I regret having the rice for breakfast as, with hindsight, it may have been reheated. The credit card machine would not let me pay in rupees, so I ended up paying in cash to avoid a 5% conversion charge.

It was a great place close to Orchha on our road trip between Shivpuri and Khajuraho. The peaceful location overlooking the river and wildlife were absolutely idyllic. The room had a strong heritage theme and could be best described as shabby chic. Good aircon and good night's sleep. The shared tip pot seemed very fair on the staff.

Staff is nice and helpful. But they did not let us sleep in the morning because were noisy juste in front of our hotel door.

Shortage of staff due to diwali. A la carte orders really took a lot of time .

The property is located in a royal residence. The property is the mainstay of this hotel. The rooms are good ...pls take the river view rooms.......overall good ambience.

While the big high Bed was very comfortable, the same cannot be said for the extremely low bedside chairs and the equally low cane sofas. Food was terrible. Both guests and waiter had trouble identifying the Ajwaini Fish to be that, the waiter having declared it to be chicken and we unable to comprehend the manner of meat or its style given the total absence of any Ajwaini in this dish. Readymade coffee ordered from the kitchen was a disaster; but the room does have decent coffee making facilities and Nescafe Classic sachets which the housekeeping staff is happy to replenish. Over all, a mixed bag: both vis-a-vis this property and Orchha town. Missed the old voice-over Sound and Light Show at the neighbouring palace; the survival demands of the present-day India demanding new renditions of an already opportunistic and convenient history: so Raja Ram of Orchha's Ram Rajya Temple is now endorsed to have come straight from Ayodhya instead of Haridwar as mentioned in the old narrative, best to avoid mentioning even more startling edits. The elan with which the old voice-over had romanticised the historical narration of Hardaul and his commitment to Bundelkhand's young women has now taken a backseat, yielding to pressing political correctness of recent times, unconvincing and jaded; or maybe, I've just gotten older compared to my earlier trips to this once delightful town.

Old style luxury with a big bed and spacious rooms and bathrooms. Big high Bed was very comfortable. Lovely ambience and clean air: we actually went there to flee the pollution of Delhi. Serious food quality issues at this property can be sorted out by stepping into Orchha town which has numerous eating places of all categories, a few of them quite good, but mostly vegetarian in this temple town, this description having overtaken the small feudal kingdom character of Orchha town through recent history and even more so in recent times.

Washroom was not clean or well maintained - leaking shower. Bedsheets, towels had strains.

Staff is friendly and caring, the property is very good and has an easy access to the river for long and beautiful walks.

The washroom needed attention. The TV size was too small for the distance. The senior staff kept scolding the junior staff in front of us, which was quite embarrassing. The overall haveli look needs to be improved.

Commercial activities on the river such as the many wedding photo shoots on the riverside in front of the hotel ... photographers and crew. are happy to take their photos with the beautiful backdrop ... but not willing to step aside to allow a day-to-day visitor capture a beautiful sunset or the upriver scenery. Also a number of photographers were flying drones over us at a considerable distance from their photo subjects. The photo shoot also came into the hotel dining room while we were enjoying our dinner. Staff focus was turned to assisting the photo set-up, and spotlights were shone in our eyes without any consideration. This activity should have been done after dining times. If this is to be a special place for wedding photography, there needs to be some strict rules applied, and more respect given to the other guests.

I just love the whole set up. This hotel is extremely convenient. I stayed here in 2017 and find that this place has only improved since. Our room was looking over the beautiful Betwa river ... the river frontage is essentially hotel property. The food is great ... no need to eat out ie unless of course if you like street food and chai as a treat as I do. There is beautiful artwork and murals around the village mostly drawn by Gond tribals

Orchha is a clean, nice and peaceful city. It is worth to go there. And if you do, book a room in Bundelkhand Riverside; a hotel with large rooms, a nice restaurant and a beautiful garden with four hindu temples dating back to XVI century…

In room 4 the air conditioning is directly pointed on to the bed. This makes it very cold in the night

Priced too high for the standard it is and quite far from the sights of Orchha. In particular the cost of breakfast and laundry was way in excess of what it should be.

Character property with good river views and nice gardens with enthusiastic and helpful staff.
