Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe floors could probably have been cleaned more often, but wearing house shoes also solved this issue mostly.
The staff were very friendly, and the location was fanatic. I chose this place because it is close to most of the historical locations in Jerusalem and because it has a low price point that I wanted. I was very satified.

United StatesDepending on the bedroom, in summer time, please make sure you book a bedroom with AC, sometimes it doesn't say when you book, and will be awful without. Also make sure if you are booking just a bed in a shared room , that will be without AC and sharing the bedroom with 6 or 7 more people each in a bunk bed and shared bathroom if that is what you want or can afford, it is okay, if the price is too good to be true, it will be probably a bunk bed The bathrooms are very very small, and not very clean at least the one where I stayed, but have hot water and good water pressure. There can be a little noise depending on the room you stay in.
Location, location, location This place has the perfect location if you are coming to Jerusalem to visit the Old City, just a 5 minutes walking distance to the Western Wall, 3 minutes to the Garden Tomb, across Damascus Gate. I walked all over Jerusalem day and night , very very convenient. Two minutes to the light train, buses to Bethlehem and other places just across the street. Restaurant, Groceries store, Western Union, Bakery, fruits , everything just on the street. You can take the light train from Jerusalem Central Station. Taxis just right there They also provide coffee, a microwave and a refrigerator so guests can use it, good Wi Fi. The bed was comfortable.

United StatesThe outside looks terrible but is beside a restaurant with healthy and cheap food. The facilities are nice, but the Victorian couches would look prettier if steam cleaned. The bunk bed is wrought iron and looks fine, but I covered my headboard with a blanket because it would be dangerous if I hit my head on it.
The staff was helpful and nice. The facility looked fine from the inside, and I don't know why people rated it so bad. It is right across the street from the Damascus gate. It is near a tram that takes you to the train station. I will go back there if I go to Jerusalem. I consider it a top place to stay. You can get a shared cab from the Ben Gurian airport right to the door for only $20.

SpainThe room was small and dark, enough to rest after a day of sightseeing but not very pleasant to be in to be fair. It could also be cleaner.
The place is cheap and very well located to visit Jerusalem just by the Damascus Gate. A cheap place to sleep after a day out. Staff was nice and accommodating.

PolandIt could've been cleaner and quieter, but it's not the facility's fault that the guests can't respect other visitors.
The staff was very friendly. I traveled a lot of places and never met such friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable. There was AC and a closet. Every bed had a socket. There was a terrace with a wonderful view. There's complimentary coffee and tea, a fridge is available. The location was amazing. We really had a great time.

CanadaConstruction @ all hours of t night was a problem with my 1st room which had a window overlooking t street & Damascus Gate. After protesting they quickly, with stealth, moved me to a private room @ t back of t building - bravi, brava, bravo! T problem now was that there was no window to t outside world. I settled that issue by leaving my door open a crack overnight, allowing fresh air from hallway windows to permeate my humble abode! Much cheaper than a hotel!
Location, location, location is everything.

ItalyThe hostel is located in an old building and does not offer much in terms of cleanliness and facilities. Our room was nice but the bathroom did not have neither a window nor an air vent and the ceiling has now become moldy. While showering, you'll have to hang your clothes on a raw nail rather than a clothing rack or a hanger. I thought the place was funny and charismatic, but if you are looking for the classic urban hostel which is standardised, clean and basically the same in every town, rather head to Jerusalem West.
The Palm Hostel is located in Jerusalem East right in front of Damascus Gate at the entrance of the old city. You will have to walk through a veggie stand to access the hostel. The area is very lively and you'll find plenty of shops, small Arab markets and some nice restaurants around. The location is ideal to explore the old town and the staff is super welcoming and nice. The room was spacious enough and the beds were comfortable.

LuxembourgThe single room did not look at all like the one when I booked. Forget the table and chair. The room was facing the street/square with currently roadworks being carried out until beyond midnight and megaphone used all day long to advertise minibuses trips to Jaffa and Tel Aviv thanks to a weak window.
