Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property is located in a beautiful part of Kilcolgan. The building itself is stunning. The gardens are brimming with exquisite flower beds. Our landlady was incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms are a gold standard in cleanliness and comfort. The peace and quiet was conducive to an excellent night's sleep. We loved everything about our stay. There is a superb fish and seafood restaurant 5 minutes drive away. I could not improve on anything in this property. Top marks and a gold star!

IrelandAbsolutely nothing
Kathleen was a wonderful and attentive host despite the fact that we had booked on very short notice and she had given her housekeeper the day off…we were the only guests on the first night and it felt like we were Kathleen’s private guests in her wonderful home. We had a wonderful weekend exploring the area and Galway City. Kathleen even produced a very nice bottle of wine which we enjoyed while sitting with her in her beautiful garden. I forgot to tell Kathleen that the TV in our room was not working, and to thank her for for this as we were inadvertently spared from all the awful news from around the world.

UkraineWhile we really enjoyed our stay, there was one aspect that didn't quite meet our expectations – breakfast. We were anticipating a buffet-style or perhaps the opportunity to select our breakfast preferences. Each day, the offerings remained consistent: yogurt, fruits, berries, bread, and cheese. It would have been great to have some variety, perhaps even some eggs...
The house and the room were stunning. It felt like we're staying in the princess room. Staff was friendly and helpful, they recommended us best places to travel and eat so we really enjoyed our stay there.

IrelandLovely healthy breakfast provided. Host kindly accommodated special dietary request, making fresh soda bread. Set up a table at the bay window for us to enjoy breakfast overlooking the beautiful grounds. Host kindly recommended somewhere to eat on the first eve of our arrival and organised transport for us on Saturday. She also made sure room was ready for an earlier check in of our friends arriving Saturday morn.

India-Kilcolgan has limited options for food. One has to go to Kinvarra or Clarenbridge for more variety ( 5 km away) -the bathroom shower arrangement was a bit difficult to understand. Simpler taps, faucets and shower would have been easier .
-Spacious room with an adjoining kitchenette. -Excellent service by the friendly housekeeper Tanya. - Living and dining rooms on the ground floor are tastefully decorated with lovely artifacts and other collections including a piano. -Quiet neighborhood. -Spacious environs with gardens and a small stream flowing by.

IndiaSimply superb, words can't describe the hard work put in, even to the smallest of details! I decided to stay here instead of Galway - looking at the photos and reading all the reviews. All 100% true! If you like peace, quiet and comfort this is way better than the hustle of the Galway City. The restaurants and shopping are within a 5-20 minutes drive. Wish I had 4 more days to enjoy the nearby towns, drives, islands and cliffs.

AustraliaNothing!
Everything about our stay was magical. Everything you see in this beautiful luxurious country home, inside and out, and every detail was done to an exceptional standard. It is evident that our wonderful Kathleen's taste for decor and for comfort are well above average. Watching a magnificent sunset and "listening" to the silence, interrupted only by the sound of birds chirping was a truly memorable experience, one that we will never forget. We sincerely hope we can come back from Australia, to this beautiful place and know we would be greeted as old friends by Kathleen. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

United StatesThe house does not have lift. It has a winding staircase to the second floor but since it was only one flight it was manageable.
Weir Haven boutique is a rare find. The building and the grounds are stunning. Magnificent thatched roof. Kathleen was a friendly and exceptional host for our stay. On one night , we decided to stay in and have wine, cheese, and antipasto that we picked up in a local store. Kathleen appeared with a delightful sale she whipped up to accompany our in-house treat We found her recommendations on places to go and things to see to be spot on. Our room was pretty and idyllic, Ceilings in the thatched house are quite impressive. the Home furnishings are like a private museum. We loved our little breakfast kitchen nook and the fruits each morning.

IrelandEntering the gates is like turning into a fairytale. It is the prettiest pink cottage. The house is just gorgeous. We had read in advance that they no longer offered meals but instead our private kitchenette was stocked for breakfast with gorgeous fancy cheeses, freshly prepared and chopped strawberries and berries (so good!), home made granola, fresh brown bread and more. We had some lovely meals in Oranmore a short drive away and then chilled out in the lounge by the fire. This isn't a hotel or a B&B, its somewhere in between, getting to stay in this lovely home
