Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing that we didn’t like.
Comfortable, roomy, clean accommodations, especially liked the sitting area with table. Convenient check-in. Location was a few minutes from the pubs and other activities were close—the Cliffs, Doolin Cave and horseback riding at the Mountainview equestrian center. Very good value. Olive was helpful and friendly.

United StatesThe bathroom sink barely works and the toilet was problematic but the small shower works well. The stairway to the upper 2 rooms is really steep and might be a problem for folks with any physical limitations.
Price and location. The room was good sized. The location was great, just up the street from McDermitts Pub and McGanns pub with great live traditional music.

Great location. Cute and perfect for a solo traveler like I was. Easy access and very accommodating.

CanadaI wished they had breakfast.
Was a great size room! Very clean and the staff was pretty great. A close walk from 2 nice pubs. They had a space for a car and it was also a quick ride from the Cliffs of Moehr

United StatesWish it was just a bit closer to the center of town because I had a heavy bag but if you're walking without heavy luggage it's not a problem
The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, the room is very charming

United StatesWater pressure is an issue in the older buildings in this area, so you just have to be patient with the shower. It was still a lovely experience despite that.
The Toomullin house is a great location for spending time in Doolin. Located close to live music and local pubs, as well as walking distance to some lovely scenic spots. The room was decent size and the bed was very comfortable. The weather was unusually warm for Ireland, so the room was a little toasty without AC, but having the ability to open the window helped. The owner was very kind and accommodating.

GermanyFurniture a bit old and a smell of cigarette, no breakfast. the price seems ok, but if you add a breakfast of 20€ in a pub to it, you could book a different accommodation.
It was close to Doolin and two pubs in walking distance.

LuxembourgHeating mechanism is poor, heating goes of during night which are the main resting hours, and also the duvets provided doesn't compensate for it, hence this stay not recommended during cold days

United KingdomThe accommodation is titled bed and breakfast - it even claims so on the sign and the entrance to the property. There was nothing on Booking.com that I noticed to make me aware of this. The host explained this to me but offered information of how to obtain breakfast in the village - the cafe he mentioned was not open on the day I was there - the pub I was informed of only serves breakfast at the weekend and the hotel he mentioned was overrun and there was no possibility of being catered for. In fairness there were to small pastries in the room that kept me going until I reached the Cliffs of Moher visitor centre.

AustraliaNo shower soap/gel provided. Not a big deal, but it would have been a convenient addition.
Great location close to the town centre, and a cafe and two pubs 200m away. Very spacious room (pretty much an apartment!) and comfortable bed and pillows. checkin/out very easy.

CanadaThe mattress could be more comfortable and the bedding could include a top sheet for a thinner layer on warm nights. Also the shower was tight considering the size of the bathroom, and the glass bathroom door is awkward for privacy. Oh and wash clothes could be provided.
Perfect location, walking distance to centre of Doolin, quiet, beautiful night sky full of constellations easily viewed, and a short drive from the pier to access the cliffs of Moher boat tour and ferry to the Aran Islands. Kind host that knows his town well.

IrelandThe Wi'fi was working badly. So if it is important for you, better to ask Host about it. VERY basic breakfast.
There was actually 2 rooms - a bedroom and living room, so it was quite large. The location very good, you can get to the cliffs easily.

AustraliaWe stayed in room 2. False advertising as no free wifi in the room nor coffee, ok if you drink tea. We could over look the lack of advertised offerings but the deal breaker was the inability to bathe as no hot water available in shower. When owner advised regarding no hot water, claimed “it was working yesterday “ - we claim”bullshit”. Have added photo of bird crap on the window in the room. Was also difficult to find property, no identification on house. This paid experience borders on fraud, booker beware.

IrelandRoom was dated for the price paid, €80, no shower gel/shampoo. No towel, no breakfast.
Hostel standard, room was very dated for a Guest house. €80 for a midweek one night stay without breakfast for a room of that standard was overpriced.
