It would have been nice to find a quiet seat in the bar in which to eat without music quite so loud from all the amplifiers. I realise the reason for not opening the upstairs restaurant mid-week but enjoyed eating up there on previous occasions where it was lighter and more open. I did request a sea view if possible which I was told was available but it was not really a sea view as we were situated on the side of the building.

The evening meal was nice and the waitresses were helpful and friendly.

It’s really great for a reasonable price. Very comfortable and clean. Cozy room with options for heat or air-con. Bathroom spotless. Bed and linens really nice. Couldn’t ask for more!

staff are always so friendly in the Martello - they are so helpful and great at accommodating requests. Food is superb and we enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner and breakfast the following morning - could not fault anything.

One downfall was the music downstairs,I enjoyed it while I was there but when I went to bed I could here it for a good while later,maybe it's because I'm not in my 20,s anymore,apart from that all was good,would probably stay on a Sunday the next time

Parking out in the street (zones) had to be paid for via the parking app or in person which if we had stayed for longer than 1 night I would have had a problem paying for. Our room was right up against the DART rail line and station and so could hear the train traffic very loudly (the sound dampening in the rooms is not great as we could hear people talking loudly in the street below as well) There was also construction happening right outside our window which started before 08h00 and also very disturbing. A real shame about the noise as the hotel is lovely with a great vibe, great restaurant and pub downstairs. and the location is top drawer being on the waterfront.

Breakfast was brilliant ... generous portions, good value and very tasty Room was adequate for a short stay (max a couple of nights) as it was quite cramped for 4 adults. The fold-down single beds were a great idea and worked well for our adult daughters Bathroom was fine with a strong shower Kitchen was kitted out for a short-stay
