Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Great b&b. Very accommodating. We had our 2 dogs with us and we were upgraded to a bigger room. Very nice of the owner. The breakfast was also good with vegetarian options - they ask you what you would like the night before

IrelandFab location, fantastic staff and exceptional breakfast! The room was spacious and really clean. We had our family staycation there and we loved every single moment of it. This little village is a gem for someone who wants to relax from busy city life. So many amazing views, boat trips, and lovely beaches. YOu will get many suggestions! Our daughter, unfortunately, twisted her foot, but the B&B owner helped us to get to the GP and hospital. She was so friendly, understanding, and really accommodating! We felt at home and we are so grateful for the help!

Fabulous guest house in a fabulous location. So relaxing. Hannah was so welcoming and friendly- she made us feel right at home immediately. The room was a great size and the beds very comfy. The fantastic breakfast kept us going all day! Our little dog travelled with us and was so relaxed there he didn’t want to leave (neither did we). Would highly recommend Liam Siar.

IrelandAt this point I should offer some constructive criticism. But I can't. Everything was marvellous and, God willing, I will go back. This is somewhere to go to get away from the madding crowd and live life at a more human pace. Don't expect to find a resort teeming with nightlife and restaurants and you won't be disappointed. Be prepared to drive a little to get to the nearest town (Belmullet) for some things.
Leim Siar is ideally situated for a get-away-from-it-all break. The Mullet peninsula is one of the loveliest places I've ever visited. Before I went there I had no idea such a beautiful place existed, it has never figured in any tourist brochure I've seen. On a sunny day the sea is a deep blue, you could imagine yourself in Greece. There is something there for everyone, whether walking, cycling, driving or fishing. Hannah (and Fiona!) looked after us as though we were old friends. Hannah gave us loads of advice on places to visit. The reason I chose Leim Siar in the first place was the number of times people mentioned Hannah in their reviews. Now I know why! She is a marvellous host, you couldn't wish for better. The breakfasts each day were excellent. I'm struggling to remember a better breakfast elsewhere, even in some 5 star hotels I've stayed at. One evening I caught some mackerel from the nearby pier and Hannah cooked them for us in the morning, all the while insisting we eat a little salad with it - the salad came with avocado, dried redcurrants and a beautiful dressing.

IrelandThe only thing we didn't like was that our "long" weekend was too short. Seriously, whoever invented 5 day working week and only 2 day weekend should burn in hell. We wanted to stay longer, but the work commitments not allowed us...
Great location, clean room, friendly host. That's not enough to describe our stay in Hannah's house. We have received such a great welcome and a tour around the greenhouse all in professional and kind way. We had conversations about sourdough, rose jams and our son has instantly adopted Hannah as his new auntie. That's the best recommendation. Its quiet, its cozy its a home far away from home. Would gladly return.
