The only toilet was upstairs in the ensuite but not a big issue.

The property was extremely well appointed, clean and comfortable. Nick was extremely helpful and generous including leaving us some good quality, tasty snacks. It was a perfect location to explore the ring of Beara.

The property was beautiful and very serene, yet mere minutes to Kenmare. At night you could hear the river flowing behind the property and that was heavenly. It was comfortable and well appointed with everything you need. We were able to easily cook our own meals. Nick also left us a very nice welcome of bread, butter, jam and chocolate! As hosts, Nick and Donal were gracious and helpful in every way. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to others and hope to return in the future!

What a perfect place! Our favorite in Ireland! Cute little apartment right on a river! Wonderful hosts right next store. Washer and dishwasher. Kenmare is a few minutes away. We are now spoiled!

The retreat is a perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. The hosts were fantastic, very welcoming, and kind. Also have lots of useful local knowledge. Nothing, everything was near perfect.

Everything plus what one can expect were there plus so much more. It was more than an equipped unit it had everything plus - foodstuffs, coffee/teas/hot chocolate and in the bathroom everything plus more. We were not only welcomed in person by our hosts but there was bread, jam, butter, Guinness x 2!!! awaiting our arrival. We were constantly sent Wapp info on recommendations as to where we should go (drive), what we should go and see, use as stopovers, etc. Best ever stay and I have visited 40 countries to date ..... should know! Highly recommended but do make it multiple nights - you'll never be sorry!

Beautiful rural setting by the river, yet just a few minutes from Kenmare town. The accommodation is high class, well furnished, comfortable beds and the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with the essentials for a short stay (becoming increasingly rare in self-catering!). Scrupulously clean. Nick was a perfect host - attentive but discreet - and very thoughtful. He even brought treats for our 2 dogs.

Very well equipped with everything we needed and more! This is such a beautiful, peaceful location tucked away next to the river and perfect for birdwatching over breakfast. The welcoming gift is a sweet touch and the hosts are so lovely and welcoming, and always happy to help and give recommendations. This stay has far exceeded our expectations and it’s definitely somewhere we’d love to return to!

Absolutely nothing to complain about!

It is a spacious accommodation in a quiet location a short walk from Kenmare town centre. Nick and Dólan keep it spotless clean and care for all needs, they are very helpful and really, really nice guys with a good sense of humour. As we were on the road all day, we had too less time to chat with them unfortunately. Nick provided us with information about what to do on Beara Peninsula etc. The bed is super comfy and there’s a back terrace facing River Sheen. We definitely recommend the Kingfisher Riverside Retreat.

It was a bit rainy at times, but hey... what do you expect in the west :)

The cottage was self-catering, and it had everything you could wish for to cook your breakfast or meal. The host was so kind to leave some drinks in the fridge, and deliver a fresh bread and jam.

The best place we stayed at in our 10 days tour of Ireland, wish we stayed longer! Nick was such a great host, really good communication and the place itself is just a sheer definition of serenity, so relaxing, with lovely wee touches and absolutely spotless. The birds songs in the morning, the river sounds, the sunshine - it just couldn't be more perfect! Oh, and it's dog friendly so ideal if you're bringing your four legged family member with you!
