Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandBeautiful, professional, quiet and well maintained location, with very friendly staff and great spirit. Would definitely go again! A bit away from the main street, thus no traffic noise but still only 5min walk to town center

A beautiful little oasis, boasting huge rooms, comfortable bed, everything is tranquil and beautifully maintained. I felt safe and like I was part of their family, waking up to welcoming smiley faces, always ready to have a beautiful and friendly interaction. The pool was perfect to relax near and the energy and calmness of the property was felt and appreciated.

SpainThe only slight negative was the breakfast. Fresh fruit was good, but no Indonesian choices (nasi/mei goreng, which we love. The omelette and pancake weren’t the best we’ve tasted. Get that sorted and it’s the perfect place!
Initially we came across Wonder Bali because we needed to extend our stay in Tulamben and Matahari was fully booked. OMG what a difference, fell in love with it immediately - two minutes off the main road up a side road and it felt like a different planet, no street noise whatsoever. Can’t believe it was only €6 more expensive, thank God Matahari Guest House was fully booked! This tiny resort was a little slice of Paradise. Just 2 villas, a pool, surrounded by nature, idyllic. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished with a great bathroom. There is a kettle and minibar in the room and the staff are very friendly. There is a temple at the top of the road and a lovely little resort/restaurant 100m away, called Utama 2, so you don’t even need to go down to the main road for dinner. Decided to book another night, so we could experience the diving here too. So glad we added the extra day, Kadek our “macro” guide, who is also the owner was fantastic, spotted some amazing stuff - was like having your own private dive centre, so chilled and relaxed, there was only 4 people diving with two guides. - absolutely loved our time here 🥰 If we return to Tulamben, we won’t stay anywhere else.

United KingdomReally enjoyed my stay and diving at Wonder Dive! The room was very spacious and quiet given that there is only one other guest house on the property. I dived with Kadek on the Liberty Shipwreck and Coral Garden - he was very friendly and a great guide. All the staff at Wonder Dive were also friendly and made my stay a real pleasure.

BrazilThis is a bit of a gem in Tulamben. Spacious and comfortable room with open bathroom. Strong and hot shower. Drinking water provided. Good bed. Nice and spacious porch with pool view. Super friendly staff specially Wayan. Only 2 rooms so it’s almost like a private place. If you are diving I’d recommend bringing your gear and try to ask for Saz to be your guide if you like macro. Also, if you like cats they have 3 very friendly ones.

Indonesia-
We stayed here for 5 nights during our diving trip to Tulamben. The location is in the alley, but not too far from the main road which we like it because it's quite, so you can't hear the traffic as there're many big truck passing the main road in Tulamben. When we arrived, the staff is really helpful. Straight away showing us our room. Lovely setup, big garden. The room itself is very spacious, fridge and dispenser is provided inside the room. During our stay, the staff also very friendly and helpful, they always ask which kind of breakfast the night before so they can prepare it in the morning. They also clean the room everyday. But we said it's okay as we only there for sleeping and the room still clean. Thankyou team. p.s : if you are a diver, they also have a dive center so you can check them out!

United StatesThat we had to leave!
This place is fantastic! It has an incredibly relaxed vibe with only 3 villas. We were able to arrange a pickup from Padang Bai and a drop off to Lovina at the start and end of our stay. The property is beautiful. It's up a hill just off the main road, so there is not a lot of traffic sounds. The largest Temple in the area is at the other end of the street, and our host kindly invited us to a beautiful ceremony in honor of the full moon. The villas are big and clean with private outdoor bathrooms and additional access so you can walk from the pool or from diving to shower without getting the bedroom wet. There are so many places to chill or work or sort through your dive photos! We loved the window nook and the big desk inisde. We did several days of scuba diving for all the little macro critters -nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, pipefish, and more-and it was amazing and addicting! You need more than GoPro to capture the microscope life making it's home here! We had a friend in the area who joined us for a dive, and liked the place and people so much, she booked an open villa stayed there to chill and dive as well! All the scuba diving is shore diving, a 5-10min truck ride away. We did an early morning dive on the famous USS Liberty Wreck, but all our other dives were "muck dives" in search of small critters in the patchy reefs and black sand. Our guide and host, Kadek, has a very chill rasta vibe, and is fantastic at finding all the little macro critters on dives! We could tell he loves doing this! We loved it so much we kept extending our stay until we couldn't because more people were arriving. There are several super cute and friendly kitties that live here and are around to cuddle, which was a lovely bonus since we were missing our own pets. The breakfasts are tasty, and there are several restaurants just down the street for other meals.

Czech RepublicThe access to the house was good during the day however, the area was really dark after sunset so we were a little worried. We did not like the breakfast at all - they asked in advance what time we want the breakfast (we already had booked a diving lesson for 8:00) and also what we would like to eat so they could prepare in advance. When we went for breakfast at 7:30, the breakfast was not ready, we had to wait 15-20 minutes and were late for our lessons. We only got a bit of fruit, 1 pancake and 2 scrambled eggs with 2 toast - for 2 people, so we had to share. There was no water or juice, just coffee. Not worth the value we paid for the breakfast.
We really enjoyed the accommodation - nice pool and quiet environment. The landlord was amiable and helpful - he even helped us borrow motorbikes and arranged a taxi to the airport. When we asked them to prepare an early breakfast before going diving, they kindly arranged it early for us.

GermanyThe breakfast was taking very long, although the day before they asked us at what time we wanted breakfast, because we wanted early in the morning before check out go to Snorkling. It includes fruits, and the was not look fresh, I don't care in general how they look, so I tried but the was also not taste good. We said to the person who served the breakfast but he didn't understand English. There were also some small problems in the room but they solved them in the moment. Except that it was not possible to lock the toilet door.
The room was very big with a lot of comfort and clean. The terrace was very nice, and they allowed us to hang our hammock. The pool was very nice and from the garden you could see the Agung. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
