Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWe had a beautiful ocean view pool villa, and it was absolutely spectacular. The team thinks of all the details and it has been our best stay in Bali so far.

AustraliaAbsolutely everything! You have two options when you book : mountain view with a private pool - these are on the top floor and more private that the ground floor pool at the front. The layout of the room is beautiful! There is nothing really to do around the area - which forces you to relax and switch off….. the food on the property was amazing! So you really don’t have to leave at all!!! And the staff are all super lovely!!! So it just also has a cozy warm feeling about it. We loved our stay that much we stayed an extra night.

FranceI would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the staff at The Tiing Tejakula for their kind and thoughtful hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt a true haven of peace, perfect for recharging after a busy week of activities in Ubud and Munduk. The hotel’s calm and relaxing atmosphere was a delight a perfect place to unwind. The restaurant was a delightful surprise, the dishes were delicious and varied, making for an amazing culinary experience ! The hotel also offers activities to further explore this beautiful region. In short, my stay at The Tiing Tejakula Villas was a pure moment of relaxation and happiness. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for peace, quality, and authenticity.

United KingdomWe extended our stay by one night so this is to complement my other review. Above all, the staff is absolutely exceptional: from the more junior members of staff who were forthcoming and solution driven and the most welcoming and informative receptionists and waiters to the general manager of the resort who literally checked in on us daily when he saw us around the resort. The staff at The Tiing literally showed us what the definition of outstanding hospitality really is. Worth mentioning that a member of staff would visit our unit each evening to spray mosquito repellent around but particularly in the bedroom area which put all of our concerns around falling ill to rest. We found that really helpful because although we had all sorts of repellent products ourselves, we wouldn’t have known where to start with them. We also had a lizard in our room one night - you can’t control nature, can you?! - and a member of staff came over very promptly to capture it and release it safely outdoors. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We can’t wait to be back!

United KingdomAbsolutely superb! Staying at The Tiing is an all-round and all-encompassing experience and we fell head over heels for the resort so we extended our stay. We stayed in an ocean front, lower ground unit and the interior design was simply stunning - from the bamboo doors and windows, overall spaciousness and comfort of the unit, the private bedroom in between glass walls with long curtains that is really intimate and the most comfortable bed, open space bathroom with shower and a bathtub plus an indoor, intimate bathroom, to the ocean front terrace with a small, private pool. Honestly, the pictures on Booking don’t do the property justice - our expectations were overly exceeded. The room comes with everything and anything: well replenished mini fridge with very reasonable prices for the goods plus very nice wine, potable water bottles, wine glasses and coffee cups, good quality coffee and tea and kettle, hair dryer, pressed and comfortable robes and towels, working air conditioning, all sorts of toiletries etc. The food was my oh my! We opted to have breakfast delivered to our room every morning which came at no extra cost. The fruit platters that came with the breakfast were literally the highlight of our morning and the pictures below complete the picture I’m trying to paint. We also dined at the resort on multiple occasions and there is a very good range of food mixing both Western and Indonesian dishes, made with locally sourced, high quality ingredients. There’s literally something for everyone. We enjoy making our own itinerary but the resort offers an impressive range of tours and activities, making it worth the stay despite it’s farther location from the touristy areas in Bali - which is why we chose The Tiing. We visited outstanding temples, breathtaking waterfalls and the iconic rice fields, all within an hour’s drive from the resort.

United KingdomFrom the architecture to the people to the food, everything about The Tiing did not disappoint! We chose The Tiing for a romantic place to relax for our honeymoon and spent 11 nights feeling utterly pampered! Room no. 3 had a plunge pool overlooking the ocean and was kept immaculately clean and well stocked by the constantly-smiley housekeeping team. The chef and attentively friendly staff in the restaurant made sure we experienced the beautiful freshly caught fish and local ingredients and we enjoyed everything we ate! The reception staff were incredibly helpful and always happy to see us, they genuinely couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you to you all, we will never forget you!

United StatesWe loved our stay. But be aware that the small private pool in front of the room is not heated. It was still comfortable for us. Also, the outdoor shower within the room is not heated. The indoor shower is inside the bathroom where the sink is, so water might get on things and the floor will be wet. The wifi cut out for a brief period, but it was not the hotel's fault. This did not detract from our stay, but some guests might like to know these things. We would definitely stay again!
Our family of 3 stayed there a couple nights. We could have stayed longer. It was a unique hotel. Beautiful location and sunsets. We enjoyed the pool in front of our room and the hotel pool. They offered different activities. We took a cooking class with the hotel chef and visited the local market in the morning. We all enjoyed cooking together and the chef was fun to talk to. The kitchen staff even kept our leftovers so we could eat it the next day. We had wonderful massages, too. The food and drinks were awesome. They even celebrated one of our birthdays with a special breakfast. Staff were very kind. We loved our stay here. Everyone seemed happy, guests and staff.

The staff know nothing called "No we cannot", they are super friendly and helpful and nice from reception to restaurant to house keeping and diver. The room is very clean and big with comfy sofa, the view from the room is heaven like, we enjoyed the swimming pool, the food was great and affordable with stunning sunrise and charming sunset, A very Gentleman driver Mr Alit took us for a day trip to the near by waterfrall which is the best in Bali, in our way back after checking out he made a surprise visit to the coffee farm which was great too, We definitely recommend this calm hotel, it definitely worth the trip. The Spa was good as well:).

AustraliaThe lounge room got pretty hot but was bearable most of the time with the doors open and the fan on, plus you can just go for a swim. However, there was not a lot of privacy in the lounge/pool as you’re on the ground level and facing the walkway between the reception, restaurant, and other rooms. Other guests would often look into our room which had a lot of potential for awkward moments if you catch my drift. So just be mindful that it’s easy to see into the room, and if you want full privacy then book one of the rooms upstairs. We only heard people upstairs very very faintly.
My partner and I loved the entire experience. Cold towel and drink on arrival was very welcome after our big ride down the mountain. It’s a beautiful and peaceful space. There’s no construction noise or loud roads/scooters. Very friendly and attentive staff. Fast Wi-Fi, was good enough for me to use Remote Desktop. Big couch facing the ocean was a damn delight. There are no waves at the beach so the sound of the ocean is very calm, so good to fall asleep to and just let the day drift away. The food at the restaurant is really great quality, both the Indonesian and western food. Cannot fault it at all. Mains were scrumptious and the salads were perfect accompaniments. Pricing is more than reasonable for the quality, between 100-160k. Cocktails are ridiculously well priced and delicious, 70k (crazy). The waitstaff were so awesome too. Loads of activities to do but we just ate, drank, slept, got massages, and could have stayed for weeks. We loved our stay, thank you so much to all the amazing staff.

South AfricaThe only complaint is the bathroom. It just doesn’t work and is a real letdown unfortunately. It’s the only thing that does not make sense and hasn’t been well thought through. Pity.
It is so beautiful, so well thought through and just blends into the surroundings. The setting is magnificent and the rooms are breathtaking. We stayed in the villas with the mountain and ocean view with the splash pool. The views! The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant is outstanding. We only stayed one night but would definitely return for longer in the future. It’s so peaceful and warm.

AustraliaThe beach was rocky with stronger waves than we expected having stayed only a few hours further west just before, where it was very calm. We found out it was calmer early so had a good snorkel the next morning close by and even saw a green turtle. Fought the waves in the afternoon just west along the beach (both recommended by one of the staff) but worth it for the plentiful healthy coral. Only the bedroom had aircon so we were constantly closing doors from the living area to keep it cool. No mozzies though. The bathroom has the shower right behind the vanity which made the floor wet - although the staff did dry the floor both in the morning and at turn-down, so wasn’t the issue we anticipated. Nothing much to see nearby though we did visit the main Batur temple on the way back to the airport, which wasn’t far - and worth a visit.
Very interesting super modern architectural design - the main draw for us picking this hotel! Very unique. We chose the mountain view room over the pool view ‘upgrade’ as the bedroom had the stunning mountain view, and the living area and balcony still overlooked the ocean. The pool was more private on the back deck to the bedroom too. The location on the north coast was lovely, as just outside a small village and not at all touristy. One of the excursion options was visiting artisans in the village and seeing the processes for making arak, palm nectar and sea salt, with tastings - which was fantastic - Don, the local guide had a wonderfully calm demeanour and obviously knew all the local artisans personally. We also visited the actual village with its myriad temple complex, and even the local, apparently unique cemetery - cannot recommend this highly enough! The pool was perfect - although the colours strange! Comfy loungers, and not many other guests to compete with, being a very small resort. Fresh very local fish every day in the restaurant (tuna and mahi mahi) - though not always the best cut. Local food as well as western. Lovely staff.
