Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s intimate backpacker style, so if you want more secluded bedroom accommodation then pop in to check it out first.
If you’re looking for backpacker style accommodation, this place is for you. Elena (I hope I’ve spelt that correctly) is such a fabulous and kind host. Her cooking is awesome! I stayed 2 nights and within a few hours I felt like part of her little Bedugul family. Roman and Choma were super friendly and I feel like I’ve made three new friends. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, if a little on the small side. Washing and toilet facilities are spotless. Chakra has a big dining/entertainment area, a chill out room and an open roof top to watch the sun come up over the hills.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like.
Elaina and the staff were all lovely and so helpful. Elaina couldn't have done more to make us feel comfortable, at home and relaxed. The food was also great and included local and international dishes. It was made using filtered water, so the salads are safe to eat. They have their own pizza oven too! There is also filtered water available either hot for tea or coffee or cold for drinking. Each bed is in a separate compartment with either a wooden door or curtain over and each has a good sized locker and key allocated.

FranceI recently stayed at Elena's and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, being close to both the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple and the beautiful botanical garden. The rooms are very comfortable, especially for backpackers, providing all the necessary amenities. The hotel offers warm water, a nice little restaurant, and a really cool rooftop. The staff is really helpful and always ready to assist with anything you need. I highly recommend Elena's for a great stay!

United StatesI highly recommend this place to stay. Unfortunately I get sick in my trip here in Bali and the staff and my roomates were super super sweet and nice, they care of me those days and ask me if I was good or if I need something all the time. Really good people working here. 😊 The food is delicious and the place is beautiful close to the temple, also they have things you can use in your stay like shampoo, cream... Thanks

SwedenStayed one night here and enjoyed the piece and quietness. I walk both to the Botanical Garden and the Ulun Danu temple. A fruit market is also close by. The owner helped me rent a scooter with a local guy which I had for 5 days driving around Munduk and Lovina. The food is really good and tasty! In the room you get a big bed and your own locker with a key. There are hot showers and many bathrooms just outside the dorm. The house dog had some 8 cute puppies when I was there and I got to cuddle with them a bit!

GermanyIt can get quite noisy as it´s located directly at the main road. So bring ear plugs for the night. A kitchen for self-catering would have been nice.
Amazing stuff and delicious food. Their pizza was just great. Everything was clean and well-maintained.

IndonesiaI know its nothing about the hostel, but I did not like the environment. Very loud near to the street and no nice Warung near that place. Just not a place to stay for some more days for my taste.
A hostel which was created with a lot of love. Very nice Russian food. Good value for the money!

United StatesThere is nothing that I did not like.
What Elena has done at the Chakra Tavern is very special and unique. When I read the other reviews, they were so positive that I had to go check it out for myself. It did not disappoint. As a gardener, It’s proximity to the botanical garden and many flower shops was great. I enjoyed literally getting lost in the farming communities surrounding it. I bought a bunch of flowers, and Elena was amazing and helping me get them home. Highly recommend this place.

SingaporeNothing to complain about !!
One of the best hostel I stayed in Bali. Place was very very clean and with hot shower which a lot other hostel don’t provide. Very near to the local market to eat authentic Indonesia street food. Owner is also very nice, allowing me to check in super early. Place also has a very Zen vibe, making me super relax. Even extended my stay because I love the place so much

I really liked this place. Elena is a great, helpful and inspiring host- and her dog and the other dog are really lovely! I felt really welcomed! The room is dorm like- but with separated cabins for more privacy. All public areas including bathrooms are super clean and comfy with hot water showers and hairdryer etc. Bed is super comfortable! Water refills are available and coffee/tea all around the clock. Great restaurant!!! You have to try the homemade dumplings!

Also the bathroom is clean, the showers, toilets and the bathroom sink are cleaned several times a day. The food in the restaurant below is very good and tasty.
