Everything was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The villa is very specious and beautifully designed. We loved the infinity pool and the views. And Poke the dog! He visited us in the room and just added to the whole experience. We'll definitely come back! ❤️

I think there was a monkey other something running across the roof at night. I was creeper out a bit at first but then realized the walking was probably a monkey. Not something the staff can control and not a real problem.

Beautiful location and villa, very clean and the team at Motamavilla make you feel very welcome. The views from the rooms are beautiful and the pool is a great place to spend your down time. The shuttle to get you into Ubud is a great bonus, as is the room service. Breakfast was exceptional and generous. This villa is more like a private hotel. Would seriously recommend.

Motama Villa is situated in a beautiful quiet location very close (walking distance) to the centre of Ubud. Their hospitality was 5+ star welcoming, kind and genuine. The food was flavoursome and delicious. We highly recommend the Nasi Kuning for breakfast and the Pork Ribs. Their afternoon tea is a must! The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well looked after...the infinity pool was essentially relaxing and refreshing. We would highly recommend staying at Motama Villa and look forward to staying here again.

Absolutely nothing comes to mind!

We had a fantastic stay at Motama, so close to Ubud centre but still so serene and quiet with a view over the rice paddies. Beautifully and spaciously designed villa. The staff were amazingly attentive and saw to our every need. The free shuttle was a great bonus!

Quite spacious with relaxing view. Staff were so helpful. The in house breakfast and meals were very good. No need to go anywhere if you didn’t feel like it. Quiet but close to central Ubud.

There could have been more things in the room , like pool towels and more bowls cutlery etc, but the staff brought them immediately whenever asked .

We loved the tranquil and beautiful rooms with such good taste in decoration and style, the staff were always willing to help , and the shuttle to town was pretty much immediate every time we wanted to go into town. Was a home away from home - we absolutely loved it !

Would be good if there is a high baby chair to use/ rent. We love everything about Montama but hope that the food gets an upgrade. For example, the pancakes are think and hard etc….

What’s there not to love about Montana Villa! We love the chill tropical, cozy vibes this place has to offer. The comfortable beds and pillows ensure that we are well rested daily. Location is close enough to the local markets but driving to the villa gets a bit challenging due to the small roads… But driving there is worth it, as the villas are facing My kids love the infinity pool and the vast space this villa compound has to offer.

We loved absolutely everything about this Villa and we hope to come back. Only very minor thing was a little tricky to find. But the staff were able to talk to our drivers and guide them in. It’s a little way out of Ubud Centre but the Villa staff will shuttle you in and out. Such a beautiful, peaceful, luxe spot.

Motama villa was an absolute haven for my 2 children (8 & 10) and I. We had arrived from spending a week in Kuta and Seminyak, and the minute we entered the villa entrance into quietness and serenity, we felt immediately at calm and peace. The staff welcomed us wth kindness, proven with a handwritten welcome letter under my name. We were surprised to be told that there were only 3 villas and we would be staying in 1 of them. The villa was much much bigger than we had imagined it to be, with 2 floors, each with a spacious bedroom overlooking the nature accompanied by a large balcony. The dressing room and bathroom/shower space/toilette was equally as big as the bedroom. The pool was clean as in the photos, safe for small children. Being with 2 kids throughout the trip, it was also nice to have space for myself upstairs, and I had fun l giving my kids their freedom to design the how they want to spend one evening on their own. Another wonderful thing about this villa was hygiene. We are all very conscious about hygiene and were delighted that EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN and taken care of to detail! Even the way the toilette paper was folded felt like royal treatment. They even put Yuca Filamentosa flowers everywhere which made the entire villa fragrant with a fresh smell every day. Lastly, it was nice to be able to communicate with the receptionists through Whatsapp, and ask for room service, drop off and pick up around Ubud (free driver), laundry service (1kilo around 30,000 IDR) any time we wanted. The staffs were all very well trained, well mannered and generous. Alas, I would highly recommend Motama Villa!!!

The only minor negative I would say is that the wall of the hotel next door isn’t very attractive to look at but easy to ignore!

August 2024 As soon as you arrive at the Motama Villa you are greeted by the warmest of welcomes by Yumas, The breakfast menu is large and very varied you have a choice of Indonesian, Balanese, American, Motama and vegan breakfasts. We tried lots of different options and all were delicious. The rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean. Our room was the corner room with the curved infinity pool. The shuttle car was an absolute blessing and we definitely made good use of it. There are a few trips you can book which looked great, we didn’t do any as the pick up was a bit early in the day, but necessary to beat the crowds. We did to the complementary class showing us how to make the small offerings you will see everywhere, Yumas was very patient with us and our attempts were quite good. We ordered food to our room on our last evening and again, it was very good. All in all you could not ask for a better place to stay in Ubud, we loved it and were sad to leave.

Really difficult to find any fault with the place. Nothing to do with the hotel, but traffic in Ubud centre is crazy, so plan accordingly.

Yumas and the rest of the staff were excellent hosts. This is a small boutique residence, and we received a super personal experience whilst staying here. The location itself is beautiful with the backdrop of rice fields. The accommodation was excellent, plenty of space for all of us over two floors. Massive bathroom on both floors (kids loved it!) Personalised breakfast was great, meaning there is less wastage and less over eating! Room service is also available which is excellent value for money. There is a main road within 10 minutes walk where you can find local shops. Ubud centre is not far, but traffic means it can take some time. The personalised shuttle service was an excellent bonus that we were not expecting, and we were very grateful for this. The staff looked after exceptionally, and I would definitely recommend this place and would re-visit if we return to Ubud in the future.
