Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThey lock the door so you sometimes have to wait outside for someone to come and let you in. I usually didn’t have to wait long though. The location isn’t that good for walking everywhere. It’s a beautiful neighbourhood but not really walking distance to food
The cleanest place I have ever stayed. The staff are also very helpful and free breakfast is great. Rooms are big and have everything you need. The house itself is beautiful

AustraliaLocation was in the old area surrounding the Sultan's palace, which was some distance from Malioboro St and other lively areas attractive to western visitors. Great for sights for Indonesian tourists, however. On the other hand, Grab cars were incredibly cheap and readily available and took us everywhere.
The staff were really great, especially Maria, and breakfast had western, Javanese and vegan options. The western breakfast was fruit, toast, juice, omelette and jams every day. The Javanese option was different every day but always very good. The room was very good and there was an ensuite. Air conditioning was excellent. Note, however, it was a homestay and did not have the facilities that one would expect from a hotel room. Nevertheless a very interesting place different from other locations favoured by westerners.

United StatesHot water shower, but didn’t really need it because the tepid water was cooling.
Maria was excellent with helping us with transportation and things to do and where to eat. Bram was also very attentive to our needs at breakfast. We were there for 3 nights and each morning was a different delicious and beautifully presented breakfast. The location was ideal for walking to the sites. Other than morning prayer at 4:45, it’s a very quiet location.

SingaporePerfect housekeeping by a team led by Maria. Friendly and considerate staff. Maria made all arrangements for our day tours, gave us tips and recommendations for eating out and places to see, and she and her team made our stay a pleasant one. Special thanks to Maria, Diyana, Rizal and Brahm for that.

Colonial architecture and the displayed art pieces give the property a fine feel. The room was very clean, I love the simple, minimalist designs. Facilities provided were also very good. I would definitely recommend the traditional breakfast to all those who stay here. Walking distance to nice streetfood, shops and cafés. Great value for money.

The best place I have ever stayed. The room is super clean. Cleaner than my own house. The building is very beautiful, as well as the decoration inside. Staff are really nice and helpful; I saw some comment of whom stayed here before said that they not really speak english, but they are good at it, they speak english, at least we understand each other 😁. The breakfast is not vary. But it is enough; there are choices of continental breakfast and vegan option, fresh juice and fresh fruits. You can also mix. This place might far for the centre but it is walkable to Jl. Prawirotaman and Jl. Parangtritis where you can find a lot of good place to eat. We walked; it took us almost half an hour 🤣There are also a local night market 2 min walk. The gate will be lock at 11pm, if you are going to be late at night, you need to let them know before you leave. The door to the building is always locked, just knock the door they will be right there 😁 Please see the pictures. This place is worth every rupaih I have paid for.

United StatesWe visited over the idulfitri holidays, so everything was closed for 4 days during our stay. The shops on Marliboro and the Borodubur and Prambanan temples were open, but they were hard to get to from the hotel without a taxi. We ended up making daily excursions with Grab drivers.
The hotel is located just two blocks from the southern ulun ulun (open square) of the Keraton, within walking distance of most historical landmarks in the city. The rooms are immaculately maintained by the staff, and the common areas are nicely furnished and comfortable.

AustraliaAn absolute oasis. It is a beautiful place in a very quiet area. Maria was a wonderful host. It is a great area to walk around, especially Alun-Alun Kidal Square at night. Easy walk to the Water Palace and Sultans Palace. The Bale Raos restaurant, as recommended by Maria, is nearby and a must visit! Walking through narrow alleys to get there reminded us of Venice.

ItalyAs written above, it was possible to hear the noise of the external units of the AC. Too much light, impossible to avoid it in the morning. Uncomfortable pillows. I rarely felt so tired after a few days spent trying to sleep in a place.
The palace is beautiful, like a museum. And clean. And quiet... even if outside you can often hear the noise of the external units of the AC. There is the water dispenser very convenient also for coffee and tea. It's possible to work with the laptop from the room, table and chair are comfortable enough and wifi is good. Breakfast is punctual and good.

United KingdomI would highly recommend the Griya Asih, it is an beautiful traditional House with 6 rooms. The staff were always very helpful and kind and we ended up, due to illness, relying on their help a bit. It's a small team of staff and they were just great. The breakfast was very very good, and resulted in us not needing lunch, it consisted of local food that was very well cooked and presented, and there was European choices as well. The rooms were clean and quite big and the on-suite bathroom was clean with an excellent shower that could deliver a real blast of water if needed. It's in a quite road about 150 meters from a main square that comes alive with families and friends at night, it's clearly a local focal point and was fun to walk around in the evening. Overall a really good 5 nights.
