The room itself and bathroom are quite basic by western standards. The breakfast was adequate.

It really is like staying in a temple or art museum. The carvings everywhere are exquisite. I've never stayed anywhere like it. Which is saying something in Bali, because the bar here is very high. The family was friendly, and was happy to talk. I wish I had had more time to engage with them. The small pool was lovely on a hot afternoon, and we were the only ones that seemed to be using it. There are only a couple of rooms, so it was quite quiet.

Cleaning could be better. There was a small misunderstanding regarding the price for the transportation from the airport.

Can hear motorcycle noise from the street at night. Transportation from/to the airport offered by the owner is more expensive than other taxi service.

Beautiful house, traditional Balinese style, very clean and no bugs/ants inside the room. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is delicious (but can only choose from 2 types). Facilities and amenities are very basic, but already good enough for travelers spending time exploring outside. There are two cute, fluffy dogs!

My room was a little dark and doesn’t get much sunlight during the days. Inevitably it’s a little noisy at night with bugs/motorcycles outside - like anywhere else I imagine. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

It’s in what seems like a temple complex with traditional buildings and statues all around. It’s a quiet refuge from the sometimes hectic Ubud. Each room has a private terrace area for breakfast and relaxing. The family are very kind and friendly, with good advice on what to do in Ubud. Shower is hot, aircon is cold. The room is clean and the bed very comfortable.

The room lacks basic amenities like soap. Maintenance is required at this stage to improve the quality of stays.

The owner and his wife were both very attentive. They exerted effort to make sure I spend a good time. I also liked the location, few minutes walk from Ubud center. Most places were a walking distance.

Need to be prepared to haul your luggage down a long city path.

Phenomenal experience, especially if you’re looking for an authentic Japanese experience. Location was great for exploring. Amazing views of the city and waterways.

A truly authentic stay in Ubud, the family has a compound which is very peaceful, traditional and set away from the hustle of life outside. Tidy rooms with a comfy bed. I appreciated that there were several pillows from which to choose. Mr Mangku came to the airport to pick me up and drop off. The breakfast was spectacular. Lovely fresh fruit, banana pancake and coffee on the terrace. It was pouring rain and Mrs Mangku lent me an umbrella. It’s little kindnesses like this that remind me why Bali is such a special place.

Consider offering real milk with the morning coffee instead of condensed milk

Visually, the experience of staying inside a temple compound was amazing and unforgettable. Add the very friendly hosts and rock bottom price and it’s all a very easy decision. We were here in Ubud to enjoy sessions at the Yoga Barn. A very easy 5 minute walk.

Our AC wasn’t functioning to maximum efficiency and the staff provided a fan. Still highly recommend the Homestay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and recommend it.

Beautiful space and comfortable room. Breakfast each morning was delicious! Aircon worked and we slept very well. The space is very quiet and peaceful. Make sure you let the hosts know when you are arriving so someone is there to greet you.

The bathroom could be improved but it was definitely adequate.

Beautiful property in a great, central location. Mangy and his family were so welcoming and he took us on a tour one of the days which ended with him dropping us off in Canggu. The Indonesian breakfast was fantastic and he had great recommendations for the area. I only wish we had more time!
