Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDidn’t love the bathroom, e.g. there weren’t enough towels (just two towels to shower). No hand towels, also no hooks to hang towels by the vanity.
Great location! When stepping out the hotel, you’re in the center of Ubud, in walking distance to shops, cafe’s and sights. While in the city center, it was quiet. We had a room on the 2nd floor with balcony overseeing the jungle which was very nice. The room was very spacious, and the staff very nice and accommodating.

SerbiaStaff is very kind and welcoming. They adressed all of our needs and were very helpful. If you need an iron or a hair dryer, it can be provided to you. Overall, the staff improved our whole impression of the hotel with how polite and sweet they were. Rooms are clean and they can be cleaned every day if you want to. This includes the toilet as well. There was always hot water, toilet paper and clean towels and sheets daily. A small nitpick would be that there were some stains on sheets but they smelled clean and we didn't mind it. WiFi was always working and it had a stable connection which could support video calls without any lag. Breakfast was tasty and filling. It contained a main meal (picked from a list, day in advance), fruits (optional with yogurt) and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Location is great, near the Monkey Forest and there are many places to visit within the walking distance (local rice fields, Ubud palace, art market...). Pool was clean and bathing towels were provided by the Amoya Inn. For people who like going out, close to the hotel is CP Lounge with live music and good entertainment in the evening. I recommend the narrow street left from the hotel for good restaurants.

AustraliaFairly minor issues for us but just wanted to identify for perspective customers. The rooms aren't recently built, but as previously stated, they are very large, clean, and comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit dated but functional. The linen and towels were showing their age, but again clean. Breakfast was fine wirh about 8 choices, but basic. We were close to so many famtasic resteraunts we ended up eating breakfast out the last 2 mornings.
We booked 3 suite rooms for 3 nights. Value for money, it couldn't be beaten. I will write a lengthy review as I was left a little confused from previous conflicting reports. The hotel is well marked on the main road and you travel down a walking lane , about 40 meters, to the entrance of a typical bali home compound. At the back of the compound, about 15 meters, is the loverly 8 bedroom hotel. The rooms were very large and clean. They were very comfortable with loverly views of the forest and pool. The pool was great, very clean, with plenty of pool towels, pool chairs, and shade. It was very quiet during our stay and we had a great nights sleep, the beds were comfortable. A real plus with this accommodation is the location, right in the heart of Ubud, and easy to walk everywhere. Staff were excellent, very helpful, and most spoke good English. You just need to take some time to ensure they understand you. This is not a 5 star hotel, but i doubt you will find better value for money. I would highly recommend.

AustraliaBathroom or sink outside could have a towel railing to dry our bath towels
Location, staff so nice and helpful. All of them. I had arrived with a minor burn and they helped me tape it a few times. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Location was so quiet down a lane but then 4-5 mins after you leave your bedroom you have great restaurants & shops on the street Jalan haloma and my my 2nd favourite favourite Jalan goutama. Love love it. They even provide a small clothes dryer at the side on your room to dry if you hand wash a few item.

AustraliaThere were about 5 steps to get over with your bags before we got to reception
The beds were so comfortable and breakfast had a great choice. Very clean and neat rooms. (Please note that ground floor units have about 10 stairs to get down to but they are next to the pool, which is nice). Quiet area but close to everything

AustraliaThis was my third stay at Amoya Inn. Unfortunately, since my previous stays, a venue nearby has opened which plays loud music at night. I stayed Monday to Friday, the music played from 9pm until 1am on three nights of my stay. Furthermore, this time I stayed on the top floor (previous stays were on the ground floor) and on the roof is some sort of machine. This machine made a suction and banging noise simultaneously. It sometimes lasted for less than 60 seconds, but sometimes lasted for almost 10 minutes. It would sometimes occur once in an hour, sometimes it would occur five plus times an hour. It kept me awake and woke me up. So much noise. For this reason, I shall stay elsewhere when I return to Ubud. On previous trips I’ve had the breakfast at the Inn. It’s not great. You can get a better breakfast for the same price (or less) in the nearby restaurants. Pretty much every bedsheet and bath towel is stained, grey tinged or marked. Since my previous stay, two or three trees have been cut down from the pool area. All of the lounges are in full sun - all day. No umbrellas. Finally, it’s difficult to get a clean pool towel. The supply isn’t refreshed regularly. It was topped up once during my stay.
Great location! Nice staff. This is a home stay rather than an inn.

United StatesVarious steps to drag your luggage through
Is very old, but well kept small temple, I believe. Rooms super comfortable clean. A little bit of work, dragging the luggage because it has a lot of steps here and there. The food was very good. The only thing is, they said my breakfast was included, but at the end, they said it was not so I am not clear about that yet.

United KingdomDownside of being so quiet was that it was accessed via a narrow foot path and had quite a few steps to carry luggage from street so not really suitable for the mobility impaired The staff, were very pleasant if you saw anyone but they did not speak much English. Not something I should expect but it would have been nice if when there was a lengthy power cut one night someone had explained what was happening or checked on the guests to see if they were ok.
Amoya was very central with a quiet garden and a beautiful deep and cool pool which looked into fields . The room was great with a large fridge and very comfy beds The place had a lot of character and you entered it through a small temple complex.

CanadaCouldn’t easily contact staff at front desk, either nobody was there and no house phone to reach them if they were there . It was a long walk down to get them. No written instructions in the room for the tricky tv system. Got staff help with it once but then gave up on it after it got in wrong mode again .
Private, fabulous pool with jungle view. Pleasantly serenaded by a Latin singer and band from a distant restaurant. Sunset view from my 3rd floor balcony was stunning. Spacious room with cold drinks in the fridge and snacks. Staff were super helpful when I was having trouble contacting my next lodging.
