The location was beautiful right in the centre of old town. Easy to park in private hotel car park. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We loved our stay. 😃

Shower somewhat temperamental

Absolutely stunning hilltop location with awesome views. Welcoming staff who also kindly arranged safe storage for our bicycles. Lovely to have a short swim in the pool. Very special evening meal outside and the best breakfast in Croatia so far.

The radiation of the hotel and its surroundings is fantastic. Calm, quiet. The breakfast was very delicious. The indoor pool was very pleasant, it was nice to take a dip in it. We cycled around the area, the location is good, although it is difficult to wind up the mountain at the end of the day. It has a convenient bicycle storage room.

To reach our room it was necessary to go up two flights of relatively narrow steps. Fortunately, when we checked in, restaurant staff helped with our luggage. In any event, people with mobility limitations might find the steps challenging.

We enjoyed our stay at Boutique Hotel Vela Vrata. We liked being in the very quiet old town at the top of the hill: the view, the peace, the green, the birds, the ancient streets and houses were all very welcome. Our room was comfortable, though we would have preferred a brighter room with fewer decorative objects. Breakfast was served in a large, airy dining room, and a wide range of foods was available. Our one dinner at the hotel was very good. The terrace in front of the hotel is very nice. Incidentally, Buzet is a convenient base for visiting the numerous old stone towns (and their churches and frescoes) in central Istria. In early June parking in Buzet was not a problem.

My 3rd stay here, so I can only repeat: I have been traveling in Croatia since many years - meanwhile in all 21 counties (županije incl. Zagreb) - and I must have stayed in more than 30 different guesthouses and hotels. From the smallest family pension in the countryside to large 4-star hotels. And the Boutique Hotel Vela Vrata was one of my very best experiences ever! :D Beautiful, lovely decorated house and very clean room with nice furniture and a stylish bathroom with big shower! Very friendly staff, SUPER breakfast with fresh and high quality food from a large selection!!! :D Well working WiFi, free parking and I also like the big indoor pool very much. Buzet itself is very romantic and beautiful. I have stayed again only for one night on my way home from Dalmatia. The Hotel has a really supreme restaurant and it was wonderful to eat again one of the best dinner I had ever in Croatia, outside with this fantastic view over the city wall! A more than perfect stay and I will stay here again - but hopefully then for more than just one night! ;-) Hvala vama od srca!

We arrived very late having been let down by another property we booked through Booking.com. We were warmly welcomed and despite arriving so late served a delicious supper of tagliatelle with truffle. Excellent breakfast.

The towl heater was on all the time, impossible to turn it off, so it was a bit to hot in the room/bathroom

Many people are gluten and dairy free these days. Plant milk would be a good addition along with some gluten free cereal for breakfast

We had an issue with our air conditioning putting out a bad smell to the point of shutting it off. To the hotel’s credit we did not notify them until we were checking out and they may have changed our room if we had notified them earlier.

The hotel was lovely with exceptional staff. Right inside Old Town gate with free parking nearby. They have an amazing indoor pool that was wonderfully refreshing after a hot day of touring- we had it all to ourselves. They also have a spa with large whirlpool and sauna that you can reserve for two hours of privacy included with your stay. Breakfast is amazing- a large buffet with multiple hot and cold options. We also had a good meal at the restaurant. Our room was small but comfortable.
