Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BulgariaAs in many places in Zagreb, this is just a money scheme by the owner to exploit third-world workers (a good chunk of its guests). The facilities have not been updated in ever, there is no good lounge space, no kitchen (they have a fridge and a microwave. That's it. And a small table that at best fits 2 people at a time). There is a pool table with an overpriced fee that no one uses, which could be removed to increase the hangout area. And all this would be fine, but for 20+ EUR/night, it is just disappointing. The major plus on this property is the free parking, but besides this, it is not a good place. If this was 10-12 EUR/night it would be a good place, but it's just overpriced to exploit people.
Great location, has friendly staff, and has private car parking.

SloveniaThe accommodation was ok (everything as expected for the price that we paid), regarding that we booked last minute, and knew what to expect from previous reviews. The pictures and reviews are accurate. The room is basic, but clean. Comfortable beds, towels in the room. We had room with private bathroom. It was great that we at least had a fan ( the room does not have AC - we knew that in advance), because it was really hot that day. The staff was friendly, we had vending machine for drinks and snacks at the reception, 24h open reception.

They offer to keep your baggage safe after you check-out free of charge. Makes it easier to travel if you have a lot of time after checking out. Very close to the main train station and close to the main square (Jelačić city square).

BelgiumBecause of the temperatures in July, I really missed an AC.
I stayed in the hostel before, then I didn't like the room that much. It didn't have plugs near the bed, floor and paint needed a makeover and there was no AC. Now, I had a room on another floor, where every bed did have his own plug and where the floor and paint looked like new. So maybe the hostel is working on the renovation. Bathrooms were really clean, nice to use.
