Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

FinlandWobbly beds that made a lot of noice. Rooms were kind of empty and depressing. Only 4 bathrooms for the whole hostel, were taken all the time and the showers arent great, ran out of warm water one evening.
Really helpful staff, cool people, and wifi was great. Location is literally perfect.

BelgiumThe last evening of our stay there were a lot of new people and they kinda trashed the common area and then left after being loud untill 01h and came back 2 hours later yelling in the halls, in the rooms, turning the lights on while people are sleeping and waking up girls to ask them to go party with them,... There was no security, nobody to tell them to leave or to say something to them except for me wich I found put me in an akward position that made me happy it was my last night there...
The staff was usually there from quite early till quite late so you could always ask them questions about what to visit or where to go,...

SingaporeBathrooms are limited, there's only 4 for the whole hostel of maybe 40 people. We always have a wait of a few people in line. They do clean it well every morning, but the toilets can get rather wet and dirty by the evening just because of how many people using it non stop.
Location was very good. Short walk from bus station, right in the Green Market, and beside the palace entrance. Staff is friendly and helpful. Kitchen is decent to cook. Clean and nice rooms, spacious with big lockers.

MexicoThey charge you to store your luggage, however there is no luggage room. Your bags would stay at the front desk. Showers are kinda weird. It’s like a hose that you have to hold at all times to shower. Very uncomfortable
The location is great. Staff is super friendly and would give you lots of recommendations. Small and cosy hostel, looks like a 5-bedroom apartment. Kitchen is nice, bathrooms are clean, bed was really comfortable.

FranceThe structure of the bathrooms could be way better. I always got a free bathroom, but the problem is that I never got a clean one. The fact that the shower is together with the toilet makes the floor always wet and consequently dirty. Also, the pipeline in the toilets could be better, because they got obstructed quite easily.
The location is perfect! It couldn't be better! The beds are comfortable and the people in the reception are very kind and helpful! It also has lockers with keys and a towel given on the first day.

United KingdomThe bathrooms were wet and unclean at all times. I did see staff go in and clean but without having any bath mats down the floors were always muddy, wet and dirty. The showers were rundown and didn’t not hang on the wall. You needed to hold the head up to shower. Even then the pressure wasn’t the best. Big rooms = loud.
Location was great and had a full kitchen with big fridge, oven etc. the staff were really nice, especially the women who cleans!
