Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyTemporary problem: there was a fire in the building a month ago, and 3 out of 4 elevators weren't working when we stayed. Luckily the hostel is at last floor, so at least going down was never a problem, just a bit to wait. Going up required some waiting in queue at certain times. This will most likely be fixed soon, anyway. Some misterious noises from the courtyard during the night, Could have used some shelf or something like that: there is no storage space, just a small table and the floor, and a small windowsill. Only two electric plugs available.
Right in the middle of Kowloon, with a subway station right outside: very easy to reach and move around. Room was - well - ridicolously small, as expected, but sparkly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Polly was very nice, kind and caring. The house dog was funny and incredibly quiet. All in all, a good experience: just be prepared to pay way more then you would pay almost anywhere else in the world, but that's just how it works in HK, I guess.

GermanyWell it is Hongkong specific: Space is scarce and thus the hostel is quite small and the room as well … and Hongkong is not perfectly quiet.
Centrally located in Kowloon, very close to the southern end of the Temple Street night market. Friendly landlady.

United StatesEven the larger rooms are very small for Hong Kong standard. Do not expect to open big luggage on the floor, there is no floor space.

New ZealandExtraordinarily small rooms! Lots of luggage wouldn't fit. Shower over toilet so if used would make entire bathroom wet. During day quite light as no curtain over small window. Also noisy at times from other guests. (Just an issue if trying to sleep during day between flights).
Well priced. Simple rooms but clean and well equipped. Air conditioner/heat pump. Worked well as a place to stay briefly between longhaul flights.

ItalyThe building is quite old so a pipe exploded and we were without flushing toilet water for a day, but they were very fast in repairing it and the owner was very kind to us and helped us as she could, so overall it wasn’t a real problem!
Me and my friend stayed in HK for four days, and we loved the position of this Hostel! Being exactly on Jordan metro station, it was very easy to reach everything in the city, even by walking. The room was very clean, each day it was cleaned by the lady and towels were changed.

PolandWe arrived in the evening without sim card and there was no one at the front desk. They sent me a message with a code which I could not receive until I got a SIM card, I expected someone to be available or at least arrive briefly with all the cameras and door bells we used. The lady was very nice once she arrived. The rooms are unbelievably small. It’s pretty much impossible to open even a small size suitcase next to the bed, I suppose works better with a backpack.
Good location in Kowloon, helpful staff.

PhilippinesThe building itself is very old and dirty looking. Small space in the room and even smaller bathroom.
Superb location. Accessible to everything, form restaurants to transportation. Jordan MTR exit B is just below the building which makes it easier to travel from one station to another. Very near Mongkok and TST. The owner is very kind. The happiest/always smiling lady in all of HK. The rooms are clean.

AustraliaNot much can be done about it, but the entrance to the building is intimidating. It looks and feels dodgy but once you're up on the 15th floor, it's a small price to pay.
For a spotless room with a brand new toilet and shower you can't get any better for the price. Hong Kong is expensive so if you can cut the cost with a room that is very functional and wonderfully located next to a metro station. I would stay here again. Note - Hang Fung Hostel is located in New Lucky House. Don't get confuse it with the New Lucky House Hostel.

BelgiumThe room was really tiny, which we expected, but honestly the bed was maybe 120 cm wide, barely big enough for two, and pushed up against the wall. If you're traveling as a couple, especially if you're tall, you might want to see about booking a twin room with two single beds instead, to have a little more space, because it was tight.
Location is excellent, the entrance to the metro is literally at your doorstep, there are tons of shops and places to eat within a 5 min walk. (TIP: if you're coming here straight from the airport, get the train to Central and change into the red line to Jordan - the airport express stop Kowloon looks deceptively close and walkable, but really isn't.) The building itself looks dodgy, but the inside of the guesthouse is new, clean and well maintained. The lady who runs the place speaks very little English but she's friendly and welcoming. The room was very small but very clean, the bed and pillow were comfy, aircon and WiFi worked well, the bathroom was clean and there was soap and shampoo provided. Overall would stay again.

JapanThe doors are not really soundproof, so you can hear noise from the hallway.
The hostel is located very close to the Jordan station and not so far from the Kowloon station, which provides quick access to main tourists spots and from/to the airport. The room was small but clean and in a good condition (unlike the building, which is a bit shabby).
