Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

5 star bathrooms and toilets. Only an idiot can’t understand that you’ve got something for next to nothing. Respect the place and it’s great for everyone as a step towards exploring Athens and Greece

France• No kitchen, no coffee/tea facility • No insulation, very old windows with single glazing, you hear everything that happens outside, in the corridor or adjacent rooms • The rooms look like jail rooms to me, quite depressing, I wouldn’t stay more than 1 or 2 days • SUPER squeaky bed
• 24/7 reception • 10min walk from Monastiraki Square • Hot water • AC • Towels provided if you take a private room

AustraliaI was on the third floor and no lift. The stairs are wide with handrails and solid so are safe to take my small case and backpack but it was not easy to go up and down plus no info about the stairs on the website or at least I couldn’t see it.
The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of the local significant places. They told me about the changes with the National libraries of Greece (which I went to visit and found it was closed!) and told me where to go instead. Close to metro, market, attractions etc and staff is 24 hrs!

FranceVery agreable 5 nice stays in this hostel. I usually never stay that long in a hostel but Athens needs time to be explored. The staff has been very nice and answered to my wishes. Regarding my « long »experience in hostels when travelling, I must say it is a very good hostel that I recommend! And very well located to explore the city. I would definitely come back if staying in a hostel next time in Athens! Thank you

CanadaIt was just on the edge of a sketchy area so you just have to be careful in the first few blocks around the hostel.
The washrooms were new, clean. The rooms were clean and felt safe. Air condition was a bonus. It was close to main attractions.

I liked to be near the center in order to take the metro from Monastiraki. The bed and the towel were clean and overall almost everything was clean.

Australia1. The female only dorm's security, I stayed at a 4 female dorm room. When I came back from sightseeing, I found a lady brought a boy in her bed, she was half naked. I was stunned to see her when I opened the door, and the room was dark and found a boy lying on the bed. Seems like they're having sex. I am just terrified to see this. Thankfully, 2 other room patrons arrived at the dorm room, and the boy needed to leave. They didn't seem to leave when I arrived. 2. There was no kitchen facility. The top floor kitchen was meant to have a boiling water facility, but nothing was available 3. cold shower at night. I took a shower around 9pm and it was cold.
1.Close to city and a big local market 2.cheap accommodation 3.meeting good people here, other female solo travellers 4.kind staff

SloveniaGiven I only used it as a sleeping FOB and hadn't spent much time in it. Not much I could list. The main thing I guess that pops to mind. No communal kitchen to be able to make "cheaper" meals yourself if one would be extremely tight on their budget. And if I were to be nitpicky. I guess the showers were either only hot or cold so you had to constantly adjust the knob for the water to mix as it was flowing.
Lovely staff which was extremely welcoming and gladly gave some neat recommendations. Location wise it is perfect as it's in the centre of Athens and everything I frequented was within 15-20min walking distance away for me ^^ In regards to the Hostel itself, it's about what you can expect for a location with it's asking price. It was by no means anything luxurious. But then again. You don't go to a hostel for "Fancy". It was a perfectly suitable accommodation for crashing at for exploring Athens ^^

NorwayThe hostel is located in Sofokleus which is known for being the bad part of town, so if you walk downhill from the hostel you may enter bad areas. Worst of all is the noise, day in and day out it’s extremely noisy with cars honking and trucks idling, people shouting etc. The rooms offer bare minimum, only a sheet, pillow and a blanket (and the bed too of course). The common area only has a few benches and not very inviting, also there is no kitchen for guests to use
The location is very central, short walks away from Arkropolis and Monastiraki. If you need to take a taxi, there’s Omonias sq. which is about 3-400m away from the hostel Also the price is very nice for being in the middle of Athens
