it’s a bit hard to climb up with the luggage, better to take care of it on a prior basis, and get in touch with the hotel

We had a magnificent view over the island. The room was huge and very comfortable, disposing everything we needed. We also liked every tiny detail, decor and how the staff had taken care of everything we might’ve needed. That’s the best offer in terms of value for money.

I don't even know where to start. But definately not a 5 stars hotel. After we complained about how clean our room was, they gave us an upgrade but the diference was not much. So first of all, not clean. I stayed 5 days in the Presidential suite and the towels were not changed for once. Just folded every day and put back ( sometimes still wet ). The fridge was not working ( they changed it eventually) , TV was not functional, only the rain shower was working, not the hand one. Their booking page says that you are greeted with drinks and fruits, but none of that. They say also on their Booking.com page that breakfast is until 14.00 possible but actually is served not later than 11.00. The pool is veeeery cold, I couldn't manage to get into water. I am sorry about this negative review but you sgould at least update the information about what you offer. This is definately not a 5 stars hotel.

    The view from the pool.

The only weak point was the problem with the air-conditioning. But the natural temperature maintenance of the building helped a lot, so it was not mandatory...

Beautiful location in the middle of village Pyrgos. The room was excellent, well equipped, stylish, and atmospheric. We loved the view from our terrace and from the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and it was served on our own terrace. The staff was extremely friendly, and kind. They helped all the time when we needed assistance. The donkey service was a nice and unique surprise as well. Thanks for the hospitality!

we loved it, but, Santorini is probably not wheelchair accessible by any means. there are thousands of stairs everywhere you go. so be prepared.

the hotel is a experience back in time. Rooms are actually caves yet feel as fresh bright and open as can be.

Not a 5 star hotel... room and main building requires renovation. Bath was leaking water, dinner chair broke when I sat on it. Complimentary wine was not provided but given after explicitly asking.

Nice view, good location, friendly staff. Breakfast was OK.

I had booked the honeymoon suite as this was an anniversary trip and the room the staff showed us to was not the same room. When i questioned the quality of the room which was certainly not worth €200 for the night, the staff shared that they were overbooked for that room that I had paid for (which was modern). They did move us to another suite but I was so disappointed, it took a lot for me get there and the surprise was completely ruined for what was to be a very special occasion. Although the staff were nice sadly I would not return to this hotel.

The location was perfect in the center

Products to wash the body were missing upon arrival. Lots of issues with the Wi-Fi. The window above the bed was broken and not repaired despite we asked during our stay. Funny smell coming out of AC. Overall we felt like the expectations setting wasn’t right: the property is not up to the international standards of the luxury industry. It offers a nice experience but it would be best to set the expectations of travelers correctly: it’s a traditional boutique hotel, more than a luxury property. No fresh fruit option for breakfast was a big miss!

Nice location, spacious room, jacuzzi addition was lovely, view of the sunset was amazing. Breakfast in room was a good service, although there was no fresh fruit option!

The WiFi signal was variable ( which it is across all of the island ) due to power cuts and damage form storms etc but the hotel have a solution and are about to begin using a satellite service which won’t be affected by this and will improve the signal.

The location is in a quiet village with amazing views of santorini and was much better to stay in than the key towns of Oia and Fira as they were too busy. The hotel is steeped in history from the 16th century with antiques and frescoes adorning the Villa rooms and the staff are really happy to spend time with you showing you around and explaining the stories about the family owners. The service from the staff is second to none with the small team working together to bring the hotel to life in the past year since they have taken over the management. Breakfast was either delivered to your room or taken at the restaurant and it was fantastic for both options. The pool area looks out over the Caldera and was the perfect place to watch the sunset with a sundowner and the accompanying fireworks from parties across the island .

the hotel lacked certain facilities which was disappointing, on arrival there was no complimentary water and fruit in our room which was stated there would be, I asked for this and didn’t get anything, complimentary water is standard in every hotel. We had no Wi-Fi for the duration of our stay, we understood there was a storm prior to our arrival but this should have been fixed as other hotels did have Wi-Fi, we should have been reimbursed for this inconvenience also our TV did not work and the pool was dirty the first 2 days of our stay.I feel if the hotel had provided all this it would have been 10/10 but unfortunately we were disappointed and when we checked out we should been reimbursed for the inconvenience or offered something as a compensation

the location was perfect, amazing breathtaking view, beautiful

The rooms are very spacious, but not well equipped. No mini bar or good TV (23 inch) poor reception of WIFI and phone among other things. have no direct view of the outskirts.

The hotel is in the chasm of a mountain as is normal in Santorini (Pyrgos) and you have to know that to get to the hotel you have to walk up some typical streets of the island, but very steep worthy of a goat road. There is a poor donkey (burrito) at your disposal that loads your luggage. It is not suitable for people with heart problems or a little obese. Rooms, they are spacious and fresh in the form of caves. Large bathrooms are poorly equipped as well.

A magical, fairytale-like hotel in Santorini with a unique artistic soul. Sitting on top of the hill, the dramatic landscape offers spectacular views of the caldera, sunset and sunrise are breathtaking. As an artist, I loved this neoclassical residence with Renaissance inspired murals and amazing architecture, especially our room, the Nicholaos , that was opening to a beautiful blue dome. But sometimes it’s the people not the place that makes a destination so memorable. The staff is so nice, friendly and ready to help with any request. We were arriving after a long flight and we were offered breakfast on the house, Mixaela went with us to a rental car company ( located at the bottom of the hill) and helped us secure the last car available 😊 Christopher was also very nice and I really enjoyed learning about the history of the place from him. This place is truly a piece of art, I feel like I experienced Santorini of the ancient times! I only wish I could have stayed longer .

    The internet needs some improvement.

I love this hotel so much from the very first moment. I and my husband spent a night in the honeymoon suite (with a very private hot tub facing the island). Everything was simply perfect. When we arrived in Pyrgos, Marulia (hotel staff) greeted us at the main square and walked with us together up hill to the hotel. She was very nice and friendly. On arrival she told us the history of the hotel and its museum. That was an incredible experience. We love how they combine history with modernity and how they turn the hotel into a little museum site. Thumbs up for all the staff in the hotel (Marulia and her colleagues and also the waiter who brought wine and breakfast to our suite. He kindly offered us a free wine at the restaurant because a fly flew into our wine when we were having dinner). They all were super nice and supportive who tried to make sure we had the most enjoyable stay :). I definitely recommend Zannos Melathron and will absolutely stay here again when I come back to Santorini. If you want to stay away from the crowd and tourist-packed Oia or Fira, stay in Pyrgos ! We fall in love with this lovely authentic Greek village. The hotel lies right next to the beautiful Blue Dome of the village. I have to say we love our stay here the most after wandering in different parts of the island. Plus, don't miss a dinner at the hotel's restaurant, you don't need to go anywhere 'cause you already have the best sunset view here.
