Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIsolated location (15 min. walk to Akrotiri town). Tight room. Basic breakfast. Isolated pool, disconnected from hotel, and with only few sun umbrellas. Beyond breakfast, no snacks/drinks service of any kind. Weak WiFi reception.
Location with breathtaking views. Clean room. Nice balcony. Friendly staff.

United KingdomEverything was going perfect until the last day before check out, I was asked to pay extra amount. Our 2 year & 3 year old toddlers had spill juice and chocolates on the family room apartment / floor and I had used a couple of towels to wipe the floor as there were nothing else to clean them. Also my toddler had few lip gloss marks on one of the bedsheet. And due to the messy towel and the lipgloss mark on the sheet, I was asked to pay extra 70 euros. I didn’t have problem paying extra but I honestly think the laundry person needs to know how to clean the marks & stains on the white beddings. You can’t always expect clean white sheet coming out from the washing machine. You need to use the bleach when needed. So if you going there with kids and toddlers, just be careful.
The quiet location, the view, friendly and helpful staffs.

AustraliaI recently had the pleasure of staying at Beautiful Maria Apartment in Santorini, and it was an unforgettable experience! The apartment was stunning with an amazing view . The villa itself is wonderfully designed, featuring a traditional style offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The highlight of my stay was the extremely great customer service. From the moment I arrived, the staff provided lots of helpful information, ensuring I had everything I needed for a perfect stay. They were always available, friendly, and eager to assist with any request.

HungaryThe location is fabulous, direct view to the caldera. Clean air, room, pool. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Very relaxing place. Akrotiri wasn't crowded, which was a plus for me. All in all it is an amazing place.I recommend renting a car, which we did, it was so much easier to move around the island.

United KingdomWe weren’t aware the pool is shared between two hotels (one up the road) but this was no problem at all and there were always more than enough sunbeds at any time of the day.
We were impressed with our room & view as soon as we arrived, incredible! Petya was so helpful every day of our stay with restaurant recommendations, booking us an ATV and any other questions we had. The views were so special unlike any we’ve seen in most hotels around the world, we can’t wait to return.

IrelandI honestly can't fault anything
We loved the peaceful scenic comfortable location on a cliff..20 minutes walk to nearest beach, keeping in mind all uphill coming back and 30-40 ,minutes to red beach and even harder walk coming back but we got bus back to Aketori village. Nice little range of restaurants in village with great supermarket. Petya is a complete credit to Villa Maria Apartment as from what we seen practically runs it but is a employee of theirs. She has such a lovely welcoming smile which was same every day. She gave us day to day suggestions were to visit and go which was of great help as our 1st time in Santorini She was beyond helpful and went that extra mile, she was exactly the same to every guest that I noticed ....hard hard working lady with nothing being a problem, highly recommend this accommodation if looking for a peaceful base to support santorini and knowing you are going to be well looked after with Petya, Thank you once again ...

CanadaYou don’t need a car to have a wonderful experience at this south end of the island, as there are many restaurants nearby and a local bus available, but if you want to see the rest of the island I highly recommend getting a car or an ATV for the day to make it easier and more convenient. There’s also plenty of space for parking at the hotel which makes it easier.
We loved how serene, quiet, and large the property was. The daily breakfast was so delicious and you sit overlooking the caldera and ocean for your morning view, it’s really something special. The suite was large, spacious, kept very clean, and private. The staff was so kind and welcoming, and the whole experience was incredible and we would stay here again for sure.

United StatesWe had a family room. A queen and two singles. It was a bit tight for 4 people and basic. The bathroom was also a bit tight but all sufficient for a 4 night stay. Wifi reception was not always the greatest.
This small 9 room hotel is in a quiet section of Santorini with an absolute gorgeous view of the Caldera. The hotel is built right into the cliff so the views are amazing. The hotel staff was great. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with our excursions. Breakfeast was superb with both indoor and outdoor dining. They had nice home made Greek treats. The pool had ample space and overlooked the rest of the island. We even hiked all the way down to the bottom to see a little church right at the water side. If you are look for a nice quiet place away of the crowds of Santorini, this is the place. The hotel owner also runs a small restaurant in town which was fabulous - it was our best meal in Greece,

United KingdomNothing much to say here. They staff and location were great. I would recommend hiring your own car instead of taxis etc. Much more convenient to have your own car hire. Saved us loads of taxi fare and made our day's easier.
The location and staff were perfect. Conveniently located from all the major spots. I visited with my wife and child, who loved it just as equally. The staff were super friendly and always extra nice to my 2 year old. Gave great advice about activities we can do around the local areas. We got married in Santorini, and will visit every year to celebrate.

AustraliaThere is nothing we didn't like. The town of Akrotiri is much quieter than the main luxury, busy towns but has more than a dozen restaurants of all classes to choose from and once you've experienced Oia and Fira in their vibrancy and madness you'll love the lower key vibe of this area as respite! Supermarkets and alcohol and bakeries are within a short car drive for all that you need outside of the hotel's breakfast hours. The pool area has the most incredible location and is yours to use as you please.
The location was amazing. Our superior room I think had the best view right on a corner balcony, with doors from the bedroom opening onto the most spectacular view I will never forget. Our grown children were in the family suite that also had an amazing aspect out over the caldera. The rooms themselves are typically greek white washed and lovely in their luxurious simplicity. Breakfast each day was lovely at a higher view point on the property, and had wonderful new home-cooked greek traditional recipies each day which Petia was only too happy to give us the recipe for! Petia's attention to detail and enquiring nature was second to none. She gave us many tips and made phone calls for us and was ready to help with anything, it was like having a friend helping you out every day. Maria the 'grandmother' lives on the property and has her own rooms and small church integrated into the cliff that you can go into along with a lovingly well tended garden and chicken run - this made the property all the more personal and quaint. There is plenty of parking also if you have a car.

GreeceThe pool was beautiful to swim in each day and amazing views but it seemed like locals were using it also. But didn’t impact on us as numbers were low.
Friendly extremely helpful staff. Petya gave great on local places to visit and eat. Tried to assist us booking a quad bike. Breakfast was very nice, variety was good and different pastries each day. Views were sensational from Villa room we had. We would definitely stay there again next time in Santorini. We liked it because it’s away from hustle and bustle of bigger towns

The location of the property is an oasis on Santorini - it’s so quiet and calm, away from the chaos of Thera & Oia. The views from the deck are second to none. We wished we could have stayed longer. The staff are very attentive and kind. Petya in particular helped us with everything. The owners also have a Restaurant in Akrotiri, Misteli. We dined there 2 of our 3 nights we stayed, the food was THAT good.
