Loud water noise above the room at night which eventually stopped after an hour.

Very clean property with excellent breakfast and very friendly helpful family staff. There are beautiful views from the property and a lovely swimming pool with sun loungers. 10-minute walk into the very traditional village. Our flight wasn't until night time and Emi kindly let us store our luggage there during the day and arranged an airport transfer.

Booked the Villa Galinia following reviews from others, I must say it was the best decision I made. The service and hospitality from Emi, her Mum and Dad was second to none. This is a family run Villa and we felt like it was home away from home. We stayed for 4 nights, it was so peaceful and quiet not busy at all. When we arrived me and my husband were so nervous, we didn't know what to expect but we received a warm greeting by Emi who took all our nerves away. Everything was explained to us clearly, all questions answered. We arrived around 9:45pm and the Mum still cooked us a delicious meal. The room met our expectations and matched the pictures online, we initially booked the room with jacuzzi, spent one night there and Emi so kindly upgraded us to the room with the hot tub! The views are breath taking over the Caldera view. The cleaner lady is lovely, she comes in the morning and cleans the Villa and rooms to a high standard. Our stay included breakfast, a nice selection is on display and the Mum's fried eggs are amazing! Someone else commented on this in the reviews as well so thank you for this! Would we come here again? Within a heart beat. This was our first holiday away without the children, so thank you Emi and your beautiful family for making our stay so lovely and one to remember.

You need to catch the buses to go places, which are cheap and run frequently, so it’s not a big deal, but can make it a little more difficult to get to some locations (e.g. Parissa Beach).

The villa was run by Emi and her delightful family, who made the stay a real pleasure. The location is at the more peaceful end of the island, which is nice if you want to avoid the crowds. The accommodation was simple but well laid out and supplied everything we needed. The restaurant put on a lovely breakfast and dinners were excellent as well, and reasonably priced. The pool was great for cooling off and we enjoyed Caldera beach nearby, although it was a hike down and up.

The room and property were as advertised. The establishment is mostly family operated. They're very warm and helpful people and make you feel at home. Breakfast was very good as well. They open the restaurant for dinner from 7 to 10 pm but we didn't have the chance to give it a try; we'd always come back late. The ride from Fira is 20-25 min by car depending on the time of the day. We chose this location because it's away from the noise and crowds of Fira and Oia. We had a view of the caldera from our balcony. Free parking. Would definitely stay again at this property.

The staff were amazing and exceptionally helpful. They even gave us a lift for free to our dinner reservation and to the archaeological site on our last day. The host provided me with a jacket to make sure I wasn’t cold. They went above and beyond.

We found the bed to not be comfortable. BUT, we had the lowest priced room. When I looked online at the more expensive rooms they all looked to have better beds in them - this was a learning experience for me.

Easy to find as they have a nice big sign on the road where you turn. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The breakfast was extensive - the fried eggs (made to order) were the best I have ever tasted (even better than my own). The staff were all excellent to deal with. The pictures on Booking are accurate. We would definitely return here, if we ever come back to the island, but I would chose a higher priced room!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Emi and her family are wonderful hosts, they cannot do enough to help you. The home made food was delicious too, so we chose to eat at the hotel a few nights. The location is fantastic, just a short walk in to the centre of Akrotiri, away from the crowds that visit Oia and Fira. It has everything you could want or need. We will definitely go back.

First of all: Emi is the nicest host I ever had at a hotel! She and her family were sooo nice and helpful. They did everything to make us feel welcome. Our room was even ready before check-in and it was clean and spacious enough with our two suitcases. The bed was comfortable and we also liked the little nook outside in front of our room where we could sit in the evenings. We really liked the location, quiet and away from the more touristy areas but you are in Fira after a short drive of about 20 minutes. Breakfast was served by the family and there were always some homemade sweets or else included. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel, precisely the saganaki and tomato fritters, you have to try those :-) If we ever come back to Santorini, we will definitely book Villa Galinia again.

Just to say something and it is not important but the tv wasn't digital so we could understand the subtitles or the films as they were in Greek. But like I said, not important.

The room was very big with the jacuzzi always ready, full to the top and warm with amazing views of the Caldera. Even though we stay few hours at this place, the people from reception and breakfast lady were extra kind and lovely. We loved this place very much and without any kind of doubt we would book another stay here.
