Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaUnfortunately the rooms were not up to scratch for me. It smelt damp, very stark white, cold looking and feeling. I would say they need an upgrade as very tired looking and old, linens all old and dated. Having a nice comfortable room is important to me, and I didn't want to be in there longer than I had to. Breakfast was included, but honestly it was not great, poor quality and sloppy and didn't refill the food, once it was gone that was it.
Hotel had lovely facilities like the 2 pools, restaurant was great and handy. Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Very good looking hotel. Room was clean and tidy. Beach location was fantastic.

FinlandRooms are a bit worn. Simple furnishing. Beds quite hard.
The location was great, right by the beach. If you want to go out at night, you have to take the bus or a taxi. The last bus leaves ar 9.15 pm. So later than that, you need a taxi. The rooms are a bit worn, but cleaned well. The pool area is nice.

United StatesBooked a queen and got a room with 2 twin beds pushed together, the room was barely large enough to walk around the beds. All the furniture was old and uncomfortable. The check in desk was a little rude but he was extremely busy so I don’t blame him I would have been the same way.
Location was beautiful, food included in the stay was delicious and seemingly never ending! Free beach seating was included. Neutral sites in the hotel were very nice. The staff did a great job of keeping everything clean!

FranceLa Pergola restaurant needs a good refurbishment I think. The hotel is nice but you can see that it needs a bit of TLC.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast buffet has good choice. The orange juice could be better and sugar should be in sachets. There would be less flies around it. Great location and facilities. We tried the spa facilities (, they are not in the hotel but about 500 meters away) and had a massage which was very enjoyable. Perissa not too crowded at this time of the year which was perfect for us. The room was a deluxe triple room with view on the pool and the sea front and mountain at the side. A good size terrace!! It was great!!!! Hotel staff was very helpful in organising our catamaran boat trip and arranged for a doctor to come as I was unwell at the end of the holiday. Thank you all ! Elsa particularly who makes you feel welcome every morning with a warm "kalimera".

NetherlandsNo free beach/ pool towels, can rent a towel for 1.50 euro You have to pay for the beach access 15 euro per day for 2 people (however this way sunbed and umbrella will be included) My friends stayed in the hotel by the beach in Kamari and that was not the case for hotel guests over there Breakfast was just ok, coffee machine needs to be upgraded as it was powder coffee milk not a proper coffee / cappuccino etc Salty water in tap and shower (it’s not really hotel fault but people should be informed) Gym located in the nearby hotel, you can book a visit though the equipment I found was very poor
We arrived earlier but they offered us free earlier checkin 15 % off for hotel guest at pergola restaurant Pool was nice Greek people are very hardworking - I saw all the same hotel staff every day without any days off !!!(and I stayed there for a week)

SwitzerlandIt'd be good to know at the time of booking that sunbeds are extra ( and include price) as well as beach towels. Or give an option to add the cost to the booking. It removes unpleasant surprises during the check in.
Great family run hotel across from the private beach (sunbeds from July are 15 euro for 2ppl). Rooms are private and clean, daily change of linen and towels. Very cool and sun protected (blinds). Good buffet breakfast, enough choice. Dinner/lunch is served by the hotel owned restaurant. Half-board can be selected from a menu any time from midday which is great (we had a 4 pm big lunch). Waiters are doing a fantastic job. Good front desk service. Overall, a very pleasant stay. I'd return.

Germany1. The photos of our room (Maisonette) on Booking.com, were a mixture of different room types as the reception staff and manager informed us when we complained that we did not get what we thought we had paid for (very small room, no separate bedroom for the kids, no window in the kids area, no see view). This of course destroyed our privacy etc. expectations but management said that this is how pictures appear on booking... We felt that this was unfair treatment if not intentional misleading. 2. Cleaning was rough and superficial, we found a piece of fake nail and a used hansaplast in the kids area that were not removed during subsequent cleanings. Pillowcases had yellow stains on them. 3. The laundry service was bad and destroyed one of our clothes. Management accepted to not charge for that service. 4. They charged €15 per umbrella and 2 sunbeds per day even for hotel guests even though the service belonged to the hotel. BTW, the beach in front of the hotel is average and a wide slippery stone sheet makes it very uncomfortable and even dangerous to get in and out of the water.
Nice beachfront location, clean and spacious pools, satisfactory breakfast (with the exception of the fruits that were not of good quality, and an almost undrinkable coffee), polite and responsive staff.

CanadaOften no where to sit around pools as guests would claim in morning with towel and sit empty most of day. In fact some sat there for multiple nights. Cost 15 euros to sit in 2 lounge chairs in front of hotel.
