Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe place is located in the quiet area of the island. The accommodations were very comfortable and the view was incredible. It is exactly as described. What you see on their website is what you get. The breakfasts was ample, varied and very tasty. We tried their room service for dinner a number of times and it was probably the best meals we had on the island.

SlovakiaThe stay was incredible. A private pool with a jacuzzi. There was even a nail file in the bathroom, which came in handy. Breakfast was different every day, sometimes yogurt, other times ham and vegetables. The services were of a high standard. There was a local store nearby where we bought local wine. What I would add is to have a massage price list in the room so that people can see it.

United StatesEverything was wonderful.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! The staff was very kind and quick to respond to any requests we had. The pictures don't do justice to this beautiful place. The location is wonderful as well - very quiet and peacful, away from the crazy traffic and crowds, 2 minutes away from the oldest lighthouse in Greece, and 15 minutes from the Santorini beaches. The breakfast was outstanding as well. We will be back!

Breakfast was good. please keep in mind that you need a car, however I would recommend anyway - there is a lot to see on the island.

IsraelA beautiful place in the quiet outskirts of the island in Akrotiri, away from the noise and crowds of tourists. The location of the hotel gives amazing views on the volcano, on the bay and on the open sea. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great service. Tasty and always fresh food. To travel around the island, it is preferable to rent a car.

EgyptThe only thing I can think of to improve would be to include some more coat hangers.
Absolutely everything. However the best thing about this hotel is the location and the views! In our standard suite we had a jacuzzi that in the morning you could see the sunrise and then in the evening you could see the sunset - Uninterrupted!

United KingdomAlthough we were aware this place was further out from other places, be prepared that your nearest mini/super-market is in Akrotiri centre which is around a 10 min drive (20€ in a taxi) / 55 min walk. So would recommend either stocking up on your way here with what you will need or renting a car/quad. It is the same with the bus stop as this is also in Akrotiri centre so will require a taxi/car. A taxi to Fira is around 40€ in a taxi and 2€ on a bus. It was very windy during our stay so keep all your belongings pinned down and indoors during the night or they will be gone by morning!
We stayed in Suite 5 for 4 nights for the last part of our holiday and it was beautiful. I picked this room specifically when booking as it looked to have the best views and a more sheltered hot tub although all of the other rooms looked amazing from what we could see. The room was very spacious, bright, cool and decorated modernly. Our suite was 2 bedroom with one double bed on the first floor and one double bed up some small stairs into a sort of loft/cave like type room which was very cute. Both beds were very comfy. Very nice and spacious shower within the room itself. There were some kitchen facilities in the room including a fridge with items to buy from the mini bar at reasonable prices which was handy when not near a shop and this was re-stocked whenever requested. Also a Nespresso coffee machine (be aware that all water is salt water so is not drinkable at all so worth stocking up on bottled water for things like the coffee machine/kettle). There was a small living area with a tv, sofa and table. Inside on the first floor there was a day bed next to some small bi-folding doors which opened out into an incredible hot tub with a great view of the sun set and island. The outside terrace was down a flight of stairs and had everything we needed. Seating area with a table for our delicious morning breakfast which was served at a time requested by us each morning. The breakfast was different each day which was great. The pool was a perfect size for the two of us and although quite cold it was great to cool down in. There were two lounge beds, one under a pergola type thing (although not much shade once the sun comes around) and one in the open right in the pool with a beautiful view out onto the sea. We ordered room service a few times and although it wasn’t top restaurant quality it was still good for what we wanted.

United Kingdomthe location is remote, which is the reason I chose it though there is a lack of local amenities. there’s one restaurant ten minutes walk away and taxis are expensive as it’s a long way out. I expect for most travellers this would be the perfect location to start or end their trip for a few nights of absolute bliss before moving elsewhere to explore the island. Otherwise hiring a car, quad or scooter would be essential. there’s not much shade on the sun beds during the hottest part of the day. Suite 5 & 6 are above the others. For two of the nights I stayed a very heavy footed guest was in suite 5 and they were moving back and forth from midnight till 1am so if staying in those suites please be considerate of your fellow guests and wear the provided slippers or some sandals to cushion your heel. (I stayed 6 nights and didn’t hear anyone else so it must have been their particular way of walking)
Absolute Bliss! the design and concept of Potnia Theron is fantastic, the view from the suites is beautiful - a view over the caldera and being able to watch the sun set from your own veranda or jacuzzi is great! The vibe is very much relaxation and chilled out bliss; this isn’t the place to stay if you want to party by your pool. there’s no communal area, each suite has its own pool (except 6 which only has a jacuzzi) The walls between each suite offer privacy from your neighbouring suites though you can still be glanced at from certain points. I never once felt over looked or watched. At the deepest point the pool is at my shoulders and I’m 5ft 4 so it’s perfect for cooling off. breakfast is different each day from pancakes to eggs or omelette. I enjoyed a meal from their light menu most days, the Australian burger is huge! Nespresso machine takes the standard pods, basic ones are provided though may want to bring your own if you have a preference. I stayed in Suite 2, an executive and had sun on my pool/sun beds from sunrise to sunset. This is the same for Suite 1, and suite 5 (which is the best one they have) The rainfall shower was really great. the rooms are sound proofed so when inside I didn’t hear any noise from the adjacent rooms, and they are very dark for a good sleep. I didn’t book any treatments though the couple next door arranged massages and the team doing those seemed discreet and professional. The team are a real credit, every single one is polite, enthusiastic and helpful. Nick in particular was very patient answering all of my questions, and the female receptionist helped to organise a private tour of the island for me which was perfect! Even the lady they use for airport transfers is superb, I asked her to stop en route from the airport so I could buy some supplies like snacks and drinks and she stopped at a super market for me. I really hope I will come back to Santorini and when I do I will definitely stay at Potnia Theron again.

LithuaniaThere is little to none privacy in your "private" pool, since people from above and sides can clearly see. The water in the pool is too cold to have a normal swim, more like get in/get out situation.

IsraelDuring April, Santorini gets pretty cold. We ordered a room (number 6) with a jacuzzi, but unfortunately the jacuzzi was really cold and we didn’t get to enjoy it and the balcony. Otherwise if you come when it’s hot outside the jacuzzi would be perfect.
Firstly the welcoming was amazing. The guy at the counter gave us a welcome dessert which was delicious. after that he helped us decide where to go on the island and where to eat. The room is a great value for the price with everything you need for a good vacation. The location might be challenging but with a car it’s not bad at all. Very close to the red and white beaches. The breakfast was tasty and even the drinks in the mini bar cost as much as in the supermarket.
