Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThere is a lot of things to mention, first of all it’s the stuff friendliness and hospitality, we got a few gifts which we didn’t expect. We had a great suit which looked even better in real life than on photos. The location is good too, not too far from Heraklion where we landed.

RomaniaFrom the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made us feel right at home. The resort is beautifully situated along the coast, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean. The well-maintained gardens and inviting pools create a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities one could wish for, including a private balcony with breathtaking sea views. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or a bit of both, the Peninsula Resort and Spa in Crete is the perfect destination. I can’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to return!

United KingdomI loath to give a bad comment about the Peninsula but feel it's important to say one thing. The food was not the best. Most hot dishes were rather cold or only just warm. That's a great shame. This is why I rate the hotel 9 and not a perfect 10
The service from the moment we arrived was superb. We arrived 2 hours early, and we're given access to the restaurant straight away. We were then allocated our room 1 hour early. On departure, we were allowed to stay on after our 11am departure time. The reception desk didn't remove our All inclusive tags so we still had access to the restaurant after our departure time. We were given 2 little gifts of honey at check out. ( fabulous service). It was a 2 night break for my wife's birthday and she was given a beautiful chocolate birthday cake. We also had a complimentary bottle of bubbly and a beautiful platter of fruit. Following these additional touches, we were also given a complimentary voucher for 4 signature cocktails. We used the vouchers in the piano bar and they were really made well and very tasty. Wonderful touches that really make a difference. The Peninsula hotel is just beautiful. fabulous surroundings. The views are wonderful. Some of the best we have stayed in. The hotel is starting to wind down for the end of the season. For us, this was perfect, not too busy. Our room was lovely and big, lovely comfortable large bed. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The pools were wonderful. We tended to use the salt water pool. It was quieter than the main pool near the restaurant, even though that wasn't very busy either. I could go on forever. To sum up our stay. Superb. We will definitely return again. Keep doing good things Peninsula. It makes a big difference. 5 stars could easily be given.

Netherlands-
Dear Peninsula team, I spent 5 days with my friend at your wonderful hotel. I want to thank you for creating such an incredible experience here at Peninsula. It's PERFECT. The food is plenty, diverse, & delicious. The room is spacious, well-equipped, & relaxing. The outdoor areas are beautifully designed & spotlessly clean. And on top of everything, every single person who works here is generously kind & supportive. I would like to especially thank the amazing people at the reception desk. MARINA is a superhero. From the moment of booking, when I spoke to her on the phone, she has been finding & creating ways to help me & to make things work out. She's on top of her job & does it with utmost care & kindness. FOTINI is a goddess, dressed as this wise, caring, fun woman who makes me feel that everything is fine, taken care of, and I can just enjoy my time carefree. She is the gem & I am certain that you know it after her 20 years of service. TOMY is the sunshine. He is generous, loving, and the most friendly a human being can be. I also would like to thank all the people who cook, serve, & clean at the restaurants. They do it open-heartedly. The people who serve at the bars, who add an extra warm smile to every order. The people who clean our rooms & swimming pools, & other areas of the hotel. The clean & relaxed environment of the hotel wouldn't be possible without their devoted service. The folks in the animation team, who made it double fun every day & night by gathering the guests together, making them laugh & dance. And anyone else who is making this magic possible behind the scenes. I had the most wonderful stay at Peninsula. It far exceeded my expectations. I will definitely come back. Could you please send my gratitude & love to all the personnel in the hotel? Thank you. Much love, Safa.

United KingdomThe restaurant dinning hall is enormous and can feel overwhelming, however we were able to get good seat near the window overlooking the bay every time we dinned. There is only the one restaurant for all inclusive, so it would be nice to have an alternative environment to mix things up. We did end up going to Heraklion and eating out a few times. On the public beaches you do have to pay for the sun beds but they were free at the hotel beach. The hotel beach bar wasn’t part of the all inclusive but worth a little extra as the cocktails were far superior.
Fantastic views across the bay from our room as well as all leisure areas including the restaurant. This is the first time we’ve ever done all inclusive, so did approach this with some in trepidation, but pleasantly surprised with the choice and quality considering the numbers being catered for. Two pools and plenty of sun-beds it was late September so can’t comment on peck season. There are three beaches within a short stroll (although a bit of a climb back. The north side beach does have a lift part of the way) Two beaches are public and one is hotel, which is on a concrete plinth, perfect for diving into the clear blue water and problems with sand or stones. A lift is being constructed to this beach at the moment. It also has plenty of sun beds.

United KingdomI did not like the repetitive music playing at every pool and beach as I like to read but I recognise that the majority of people may positively like to listen to music while sunbathing.
We had a great view. I am quite a fussy eater but there was sufficient choice every day to find something I liked. I also found the white wine to my taste. We particularly liked the 'beach' part. It was not a beach as such but, to my mind better, as it was perfect just to enjoy a cocktail from the beach bar, sit in the sun and then jump Into the very clear sea to cool off. But you do have to be relatively fit to access it as there were a few stairs to climb down to it.

United KingdomHad to walk up a lot of slopes to simply get from my room to other place in the resort. Also the resort is pretty far away from town. The bus only comes every few hours so if you wanted to go to town, you would have to take a taxi which is 45 euros and back 45 euros. That’s already 90 euros for one round trip.
Food was good. The nearby beaches make it convenient but they are small.

AustraliaNothing! Loved it all. If I had to make sitting up, I’d Wish the night time entertainment was a little more English than French, (ie the trivia) but honestly didn’t make a difference.
It was stunning! Swim in the seas or one of the several pools, it was wonderful! Good wash great and it had a large variety. My kids had the best time as did we.
