Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe climb up from the beach!
The welcome from our host was very friendly and informative. The view from the balcony was superb, including of course the sunsets.

United KingdomThe village, with the nearest shop, bars, beach and bus stop etc. was down a steep hill and steps. This wasn't too much of a problem, with a little planning, as we are quite fit, but might have been an issue for some
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was excellent, with a fantastic view of the coast below. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and varied. The location was nice and quiet but we visited Mykonos Town easily by bus

AustraliaWhilst we knew the location was further from the city, we didn't realise that the bus would only take you to Old Port and then you would need to walk into the town which took about 15min. Would have been ideal if there was a bus that took you from the hotel straight into the Town.
The hotel was so gorgeous and having the two pools, one overlooking the ocean, we such a nice touch! The staff were so friendly, approachable and helpful and the rooms were a great size. The buffet breakfast was so tasty and there was heaps of variety each morning. Beds were super comfy and the air-conditioning worked well.

We loved the two pools, the staff were just so helpful and would chat to all the guests, a real family run hotel with such a lovely atmosphere. The room was tight for two teenagers and two adults but well worth the squish! We will be back :)

SlovakiaOur stay at this hotel was made truly memorable by the amazing staff. They were kind, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. During check-in, they provided valuable recommendations for restaurants and attractions. When we had an internet issue, they went above and beyond, upgrading our room. The daily breakfast was another highlight, served with a welcoming smile. The room had a beautiful greek style and the bed was super comfy.

AustraliaThe location is unfortunately a little bit out of Mykonos, so best to rent a scooter, quad bike or car to get around. Otherwise it is about an 8 minute walk down to the bus stop by the beach (which runs once an hour in peak months) and a 20 minute walk back up a very large hill. Didn’t bother us, but wish we had have known!
Paola’s Sunset was one of our favourite places to stay on our 8 week trip. The staff were amazing, facilities were perfect and the rooms were spacious and comfy. Bonus points for great air conditioning too!

United KingdomThe hotel is up a steep hill. We are fit and it was a tough climb. No bar, although you could buy some soft drinks and water at reception. No pool towels. Only one small mirror in our bathroom and not one at all in the bedroom. Not enough hangers or space to put clothing, so we lived out of our suitcases, which made floor space awkward. Cooked breakfast wasn't great, but the rest was lovely. These points are minor, though, because overall, we had a fabulous time and would stay again.
Stunning location for views. Very welcoming, happy and friendly staff. We had a lovely large balcony with sunbeds. Huge comfy bed. Roons cleaned and towels changed daily. Pools were beautiful and clean. Plenty of sunbeds. Grounds well kept. 24hr staff on duty. Bus stop, beach and supermarket are less than 10 minutes walk downhill. Quiet area.

AustraliaNo complaints but would recommend hiring scooters or a car as the walk to the property is very steep and tiring!
Paolas Sunset is a beautiful property with two relaxing pool areas available to guests, perfect sunset views and a very short walk to the nearest beach! Extremely clean rooms, 24 hour staff and a great selection of daily breakfast included! The staff are extremely helpful, kind and hospitable and really go out of their way to make sure you have a happy and comfortable time in Mykonos!

Everything was excellent. Very professional staff, they were super friendly and helpful, and gave us detailed information about the place, the island, transportation, activities, etc. The location was great, close to a nice beach and a bus stop. It’s on a hill, so the view was fantastic (better than the pictures). No need to leave the comfort of the pool to get the best sunset view on the island. The hotel itself is beautiful, aesthetic from every spot you look. It’s also well maintained and clean. Kudos to the cleaning lady who was also very nice and patient (flexible with our schedule). Delicious homemade breakfast. Would definitely recommend to anyone. And if some day we are back to Mykonos, we know where we will stay. :)

AustraliaA warning to other travellers - the walk up/down the hill from Paolas Sunset to the local beach/bus stop is not for the faint hearted. Especially for young kids or the elderly may find this quite a challenge as it has a lot of stairs and steep hills
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Paolas Sunset. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful with all our queries. We greatly appreciated their knowledge of how to get around the island and their recommendations of the best beaches. The included breakfast was a great way to start the day and we felt there were lots of great options for people to enjoy. Also, we loved watching the sunset over the stunning view from our room.
