This was a great dissapointment, though situated a drive out of Paleochora very near a wild (stoney) beach, which had attracted us to this property. I do not often get a booking wrong, but must really advise other travellers to avoid this one. Owners are very unfriendly, nit at all like most Cretan hosts we meet all over the island. The property is poorly equipped (not even a corkscrew in the kitchenette) and very expensive for what it is and for the area (found that out while looking if there was anything else available to move into after our first night there... which, in August, was not realisitc) The little houses are exceptionally hot, situated between cliffs, and though in a pretty garden courtyard (part of the owners own house), they have no shade and wooden roofs without insulation which makes them ovens. As the area is hot anyway (30C outside at midnight!), the owners prefer if people don't use aircon, though there is 1 unit in the 2 story property, but open windows, as we were told to do. On arrival the electrics were off, so fridge was warm, and we were told many complaining stories by the woman host about previous guests who didn't open windows, or stayed in all day on honeymoon, which felt a bit weird, intrusive, and without clear confidentiality boundaries. We used the aircon while in the space and were shouted at by the man host, and basically being there felt super uncomfortable, and leaving or coming back like walking a gauntlet. Upon departure we were told we needed to pay more for using the aircon (which, since they are so against people using, they should just take out). This was not at all clear in their booking . com description, and also randomly changed from €380, to €60 per day for our 2 day stay, totally arbitrary and i am sure not according to any rules. We gave them some money and left, determined to never return here.

    Not a lot

Amazing location and garden! Traditional and comfortable apartment. Need to have car to easily access the area. Very close to some of the best beaches around.
