We knew before arriving that it was in the part of the city with narrow streets, so it was no surprise that it was not a room flooded with bright sunshine. If you are sensitive to neighbors' sounds, this place might not be for you -- we enjoyed hearing neighbors talking, answering the phone, scolding their dogs, etc.

We loved this place, and would come back there any time -- the hotel has new owners who are truly wonderful people, they made an amazing breakfast, gave us great tips for day trips, and were accommodating in so many ways. It is no surprise that this hotel has such a high overall rating. It is a true family-owned, small boutique hotel, directly in the center of the city, with all the charm and history around you all the time, everything was an easy walk out the front door.

Great breakfasts, plenty of variety and choice. Looked after well by great staff who took an interest and were very helpful. Situated centrally, great location, good as a springboard to walk all over the town. Comfortable, great room.

One issue was the bathroom, which occasionally had a sewer gas smell. While it wasn’t constant, it was noticeable at times and detracted from the experience. Additionally, the hotel is in an older building with many stairs to reach the rooms. There’s no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage or difficulty with stairs, it’s worth considering before booking. The bed and pillows were also a bit underwhelming; they weren’t as comfortable as I’d hoped, which made it harder to get a truly restful night’s sleep. Overall, while Locandiera has a lot going for it in terms of location and charm, a few aspects could benefit from improvement. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a convenient spot in old town Corfu, but be prepared for some minor inconveniences.

There was no shampoo or soap in shower.

The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. I even had freshly squeezed orange juice. Location is perfect, a few steps away from Liston.

Because the building is unique and historic it does not have a lift so access to all three floors is by wooden staircase so if this is a problem ask for a room on either the first or second floor when booking - but staff will help with luggage.

Locandiera is a charming, individual guest house in a quiet yet central location within the Old Town - the property is very old but has been renovated to a high standard. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and wonderfully comfortable beds - ours was a Super King! Breakfasts were amazing - homemade breads, jams, fresh fruit, and would highly recommend the omelettes! Kind and welcoming owner and staff - would definitely book again.

This is a wonderful guest house, right in the middle of Corfu Old town. The room was huge with a comfortable bed. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would stay again!

There wasn't anything that we did not like. The absence of a lift kept us fit! There is no way one could be fitted in this unique old building though, and our cases were carried upstairs for us. It would not prevent us returning if we visit Corfu again.

Hotel Locandiera is a unique, very small, hotel with only six bedrooms situated in a very good position in Corfu old town. The room was well appointed and of a good size. Perhaps the best part of our stay though was the staff who were superb. They looked after us very well and couldn't do enough to help. Thank you to Angela, Anastasia and Paolo in particular. This review would be incomplete without mentioning the wonderful breakfasts they provide!

As it’s a guesthouse there is no one there when you check in (maybe within certain hours). Also a small tight stairway for large suitcases. These are small things though as the stay was wonderful and I highly recommend!

The sound insulation could be a little bit better, but it really didn't bothered us. A mirror in the room would be useful while staying two girls, but we also managed without it - there were at least two of them in the bathroom :-)

Excellent location. Exceptional hospitality - the breakfast is simple, but very cozy and sweet as the staff prepares the desired type of eggs in the kitchen, where the breakfast is served, provides freshly squeezed orange juice and the desired type of coffee.

A mozzy screen over the little bathroom window would be a good addition (there's already one over the bedroom windows). Due to the wetroom-style shower room, with central drainage hole, it would have been good to be able to leave the window open overnight, but I'd been badly bitten in the islands and there was no way I was risking an open window with no screen! This did not spoil our stay!

The family room was spacious and well-furnished. We both loved the very cool, simple farmhouse-style design combined with modern touches such as funky lighting throughout! A special mention for the very kind and welcoming staff. Breakfast was delicious; mostly buffet-style but Angela(?) was on hand and offered to cook Greek eggs and other tempting treats. A very friendly atmosphere and v good location too.

Everything was perfect for us. From the location in the old city across from the Spianada to easy walk to many restaurants and shops! Charming and clean with a good breakfast. Wonderful staff.
