Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Central location. Easy to get here from the port, also with a suitcase, since the accommodation is in a flat area. Quiet at night, although I had a room on the ground floor. Good breakfast (to be selected the day before). Friendly staff.

I loved staying at this hotel because it did not feel like a hotel at all. I was working remotely from here during my vacation. My room had a separate entry from the reception area which as a single gay man I appreciate because I love privacy. The lady of the house is the hostess with the mostest. She reminds me of my sweet late grandmother making sure that we were all well fed and content. If I wasn't so British I would have even hugged her...I love this lady and I thank her for helping me with the internet connection. The lovely lady called the IT guy to help me!! Thank you for an unforgettable stay.

FranceA drawback was the use of a single bed sheet after the second night, too short for the two beds which never maintained during the nights. Albeit the hotel is very good, the island Symi offers lots of good stores to buy food and cook, with nice wine sellers, so taking a place with kitchen might be a good idea as the room is not really ment for dining and drinking romantically.
Very cosy and efficient and clean. Very kind hosts.

A warm welcome awaited us after we arrived at Kokona's. She is the epitome of what a host should be :attentive, helpful and she gave us some great tips at the beginning of our first visit to Symi. Check in was seamless. The accommodation was simply superb: clean, tastefully decorated and supplied with the best of linen, towels and toiletries. The breakfast was superb. Everything was freshly prepared, served with style and poise and Kokona offers delicious homemade cake and biscuits. What a treat! Well done everyone. Gerard & Ethna.

Friendly family run hotel. Spotless, modern, tastefully decorated. The breakfast was wonderful! A great selection, mostly homemade breakfast items. For the price we paid for the room, it exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay again, if we make it back to Symi.

Everything! First of all, the hotel is a direct positive reflection of Mrs. Kokona and her family, especially lovely miss Kokona, the grand-daughter. İt's very clean, new, beautifully decorated, comfortable, in the center town but on a very peaceful street. Their breakfast is exceptional. We've spent 4 nights there and already we miss them! We'll definitely come back next year. Thank you dear Kokonas!

CyprusThere was no sea view in our balcony and sadly there were some renovations nearby which minored the view but the overall experience was just so nice that this minor issues didn’t matter AT ALL!
Super Clean and comfortable, it was such a nice experience and value for money, the staff was also so nice and welcoming, couldn’t be happier with our Stay in Kokona. Definitely booking to stay there again if we ever visit beautiful Symi island again
