Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I loved how generous and ready to help was Thomas. The view did not hurt either!

United StatesBe aware the location says Fira, however it is approximately a 5 mile walk to Fira's city center, we did finally find a path which made it much safer to navigate vs the side of the street. Be aware many steep uneven stairs to reach hotel, definitely not suited for all, especially with luggage. We didn't realize there would not be a staff person on site 24/7, thankfully we did not have any problems, we didn't feel extremely safe, because of this and only a rope across the path to the area of our individual rooms. We were disappointed that the lounge did not serve breakfast as printed on door of our room and the cocktails were extremely expensive
We loved the cave experience, quite unique. The views from the balcony were outstanding, especially the sunsets. Staff did stay 20 minutes late since we were coming in after their 2100 normal check in hours. We were able to store our luggage, enjoy the balcony and it's views prior to our later afternoon flight. Staff recommended 4 Season restaurant and we were very pleased, delicious food and great service. There is a market, bakery, and many restaurants within a short walking distance

Singaporeit can get cold due to bad weather but feel free to ask for more blankets the hotel gladly provide for us to keep us warm. need to buy drinking water from supermarket.
Amazing magnificent view of the caldera Mediterranean Sea right from this hotel. You are living on cloud 9 n midst of the misty clouds n sea every morning. it’s simply so stunning n u can have coffee or work on your laptop (free wifi) in the midst of the clouds & most beautiful sea view.. on the day we were leaving it was so misty n we felt we were living on the clouds.. the cave accommodation was something rare & uncommon, it’s a good staycation experience though but can get cold if temp falls very low. Owner Thomas n assistant Bobby were exceptionally helpful with providing info on sailing yatch tour, laundry, private transfer. he even upgraded us to the superb spacious cave suite! most importantly, we arrived in Santorini port at 4am due to delays & bad weather but Thomas went beyond his duty to ensure & help us to arrange for private transfer to pick us up on time & arrived safely at his hotel at 5am. it’s simply 1 of my most wonderful Europe vacation ever!

United StatesThomas was extremely accommodating. He immediately on arrival helped us book a charter boat to sail the Caldera. He took care of setting up all the pick up times and when the weather turned bad the day we were suppose to go he had even pre-emptively called to change our trip to the following day! Amazing. He was super helpful on beaches and restaurants to visit as well.

United KingdomDo yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. Don’t be fooled by the premium price of this hotel, it is far from it and I’ve never been so shocked by the state of a place with such high prices. It was extremely dirty, almost as if the cleaner hadn’t even bothered to clean the room since the last guest. There was sand and dirt covering the surfaces, and there was used toiletries left from the previous guest in the shower. The hotel advertised that it provides toiletries but they were not provided for us. We had to ask the cleaner who was very reluctant to hand any over. The shampoo she gave us was in a crumpled bottle that definitely looked like it had been already used by somebody else and then refilled with some cheap blue liquid that left my hair feeling horrible. The toiletries were not topped up at all during our stay. The towels were old, cheap and thin with stains and frayed edges. They remain damp because there is no air flow and they were not changed. Also, you don’t get beach towels or extra towels, they are very strict with a 1 towel per person policy. During the day the room is “cleaned” but weirdly the bed sheets are taken off and folded up so at night you have to make your own bed before you sleep. Don’t understand what the point of this is? If you book the traditional cave double room beware that it’s tiny - so small there is barely space to put a suitcase on the floor without blocking the door. The owner is friendly and offers to help you organise things but the prices he quotes are much more than you would pay if you just book it yourself. To be honest this place has potential to be nice if the owner invested some money into it, but it seems that he does not care. It was just a weird and unpleasant stay and we avoided being at the hotel most of the time.

South AfricaThe hotel manager Thomas was very welcoming and willing to help us with anything. His advice regarding activities in the area was great and contributed to our enjoyment of our stay. Our room was exceptionally small and there was no room for our smallish suitcases except in the spa bath in the room. This was disappointing. However, the view from the patios was excellent and was a highlight of our stay.

GreeceThe rooms were very cold at night and even during the day. It was unsettling at night as the door kept rattling and making noise from the wind that the staff kept open during the whole night. Also in the morning was very noisy as we could hear people from the cafe above meaning we did not get a lot of sleep. It was also frustrating that we did not get any hot water past 9 at night. WARNING, the jacuzzi is powered by the sun so if people are looking for a hot tub at night, this is not suitable.
Great view from the hotel and very clean rooms along with a great location from the hotel to many destinations in santorini
