Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This was AMAZING! We spent a night there and we were in a traditional house of Malvasia, it was lovely! Breakfast room was a little bit crowded but the self service buffet was full of delicious food. To get there we had to walk 5 minutes from our accomodation but I can assure it was not a problem, it's lovely walking in the narrow streets of Malvasia. Kind staff. SUPER suggested!

GermanyBeautiful location with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. Spacious nicely furnished studio for 4 people with two bathrooms. Breakfast was outstanding with a choice of seating between several cosy rooms and a patio terrace. Very friendly staff. Second day of our stay the wind came up an due to the exposed location of the town you get quite some noise from the wind and a few clattering windows (which could be solved with a piece of cardboard). Be informed that no cars are allowed in the old town and you have to walk about 200 metres to get to your room. The old town is spectacular though and we were very happy we chose to stay there. We traveled light and off season but during high season I can imagine parking in will be difficult.

SwitzerlandIt was a little difficult to find as there are many Malvasia places but luckily we met a very nice member of the staff to help us.
Beautiful room located in the town of Monemvasia with a beautiful sea view. The terrace was beautiful although we did not spend a lot of time there because of the wind. The room itself is beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing.

GreeceThere should be a notice in every room stating that the tap water is salty, or the staff should making a point of telling guests. We found out the hard way, after wasting some coffee. Also, the wash basin was in the bedroom, not the small bathroom. Not a problem but there was nowhere near the wash basin to hang a towel. The same applies to the kitchen area. It would not be difficult to put in a small hanger or rail in both places. The apartment would also benefit from fly screens on all the windows.
A nice apartment with traditional touches. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Monemvasia comprises of many alleyways and uneven steps between these. We had been informed that our room was in the Stellaki building, some distance from both reception and the building where breakfast was served. It would have been helpful to have been told that this building was also down around 40-50 uneven steps from the main road. This meant carrying bags from the car to reception, then backtracking down to the entrance, down to our room and up stairs to access it. Had we known this we would most likely have chosen different accommodation.

IsraelThe new receptionist forgot to tell us that one needs to turn on the boiler 20 minutes before the shower to get hot water. (We figured it out eventually). The water is not drinkable on the island so buy bottled water. Be prepared to carry your luggage till the hotel room. But With all this the stay was still amazing and very recommended. I would stay there again if I ever have the chance to be back.
We loved the room with sea view and balcony. Magnificent view, wow 🤩 The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was superb. Freshly squeezed orange juice was great. Strongly recommend to sleep on the island in autumn. The views are amazing. Go to the top of the rock and wander around. Hike the Monemvasia loop to the lighthouse and around the island (not for kids).

FranceFor the sake of the exercise to find a negative point: we are sound-sensitive people, and the air-co was slightly on the loud side. That being said, the adventures of the day and a pair of earplugs allowed us to sleep very well through the hum.
Lovely spacious room with an amazing view on the sea. Large bathroom and shower. Breakfast was incredible, with local products, prepared daily.

NetherlandsThe bathroom was a bit smelly at times (probably because of the sewage)
We booked the two bedroom apartment which was perfect for a family. They kept the style and character of the old houses in that region of Greece. The location was amazing. We didn’t mind the stairs as we know we were inside the castle town. We had a great view from our windows and enjoyed the living room area. The breakfast was excellent with many local products.
