Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDorm beds were narrow & low ceilings, felt like a tomb🥲 Shower was inside the toilet cubicle so was tricky to keep loo seat dry. In kitchen area the massive fridge was really noisy. The roof garden area was mostly filled with smokers🤪guests. Long way to walk back to Main Bus Station.
Very close to Vénitien Port, beach and grocery convenience store. Met lovely dorm travellers, WiFi was good, Reception Staff helpful& friendly. Water in kitchen was of drinking quality, so good very grateful! Handy street to walk through to the beach, Esplanade & Tavernas, and Vénitien Port. Only 30minutes walk to Museum of Archaeology, on the historical Villas Trail. Aircon at night made heat bearable.

AustraliaI didn't like the pod style set up of the rooms. It meant there was very little air circulation even with the air conditioning on. I really struggled to sleep due to the heat in the room. There was insufficient storage for luggage inside your rooms, so my bag was stored outside in the hallway. There's no place to hang your towel either. It is fine for a short stay but be prepared for tight spaces.
The staff were very nice and the location was only a 10-15 minute walk to the old town, and 8 minute walk to the bus for the ferry port. Its is cheap.

AustriaThe Hostel is really small - for us it worked for a night but we would not stay longer than a weekend. Of course this is personal.
Check-In was easy. Location is nice to get in the city center. Breakfast was good and included.

Good location, shop with good prices just next door. Breakfast was good, the cooking lady was very nice and she was making sure that everything was ok , with info what has been cooked :) It was clean, showers/ bathrooms were cleaned every day. The room was very small , but very comfy bed with sockets next to it. big lockers and rack for suitcases for each person. You need your own paddlock. only 10 min walk to the centre, and 25 to sandy beach. Bus station approx. 15 min walk . you can go to elafonissi, balos and gramovuosa from there. Girl from reception was helpful giving info about bus to the airport ( 2 min walk from the hostel and only 2.5 for a ride there) WIFI in the room (bottom room female dorm) wasn't great, but it worked fine in the kitchen and on the roof top. In the evening the bar wasn't open (end of july) The beach nearby had a very limited space due to high tide (all day). a quite few bars next to the sea with reasonable prices .

United KingdomLack of signage...for example DO NOT BOIL MIK IN THE KETTLE (Or any other food) there is a microwave for that purpose or an induction pan for the induction hob. The house rules should be in different languages and more visible to the hostelers ie, about leaving your shoes outside or on the balcony . Customers should be made more aware of the house rules upon arrival, so no excuse for breaking them.
I liked the staff who were friendly and very helpful. The other hostelers were also friendly and considerate of others ( but you always get one :/ )the location for the beach and city was excellent. I loved hanging out in the kitchen after a beach trip and made it my own for my 10 day stay, keeping it clean as did the others, but...you always get one who doesn't. The showers and toilet facilities were kept clean by staff and hostelers also kept them clean for others...again, you always get one and he chooses to cough up the contents of his lungs and cough constantly into the sink, leaving it a mess for someone else to clean. Not the hostels fault. There was no breakfast but im guessing that facility was closed because its theend of the season. Never the less, te kitchen was available so that you can cook, eat your own food. It was a great stay for me, I can't complain, it was cheap but it was clean and privacy adhered to.

UkraineThere is very little space in the rooms
The hostel is convenient for its location. Close to the bus station, 10-15 minutes walk, near the old town. There are places to take a walk in the evening. The sea is nearby. If it's for 1-2 nights, it's great for the price.

PolandThe hostel itself is noisy, you can hear how people from other rooms go out and into their rooms. In my 4 ppl room we had very little space to turn around. I had very noisy and smelly neighbours. There is no common space to sit and talk. So my neighbours were sitting in their room, talking and eating..After my polite requests they didn't stop. When hostel is full, bathrooms are nasty and dirty. Dryer for wet clothes is located in another room for 6 ppl, so you have to interrupt other people for your things. For breakfast if something ends, the stuff doesn't put more food. So if omelette and coffee are over, so no more food for you. I wouldn't recommend this place. Find something a little bit more expensive and stay there.
If you stay alone in a room during unpopular days (autumn, Wed-Thu), it's ok. Stuff is nice. Bed is comfy, clean sheets. But I had another day in room of 4 with super noisy and smelly neighbours - it was a nightmare!

ItalyRooms are definitely too small and noisy. This makes kind of impossible a decent sleep and messy the organization of people belongings. The showers are basically on top of the wc's. The rooms in the basement of the building are very smelly and inappropriate.
The place is in a good location close to the city center in an area also strategic for parking the car with you've one with you.

AustraliaThe bathrooms were dank. They close the kitchen between certain hours at night so you can’t use it.
The position is awesome very close to beach and walking distance to old town. Beds comfortable enough. Breakfast was good but you have to get there on time to have enough food.

PolandExtremely narrow shared rooms, very difficult to navigate whenever more than one person (or open door or any luggage) was involved. Our room was just behind the shared kitchen area, with a completely open gap in the wall (near the bathrooms) which meant that all the noise, smells and light from the kitchen area were coming through (first impression was the smell of oil) making it quite uncomfortable. We had some bite marks after a few nights (possibly indicating presence of ants and/or bed bugs). We needed to make the beds on our own, we were just handed all the sheets and pillow cases. Failing automatic light in the bathroom.
Great fresh wholesome breakfast every day, very nice upstairs terrace available constantly (with food and drinks served as well). Great location in general, less than 10 mins walking to the heart of the old town and even less to the seaside boulevard. Nice and friendly staff, always available and happy to help. Staff cleaned the bathrooms every day. AC in the room. Bed - OK mattress with handy light, available power supply and good quality USB outputs. Kitchen & dining area available for all guests.
