Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot applicable—everything was perfect!
Everything! A gorgeous & spacious suite of rooms (honeymoon sunset suite) with stunning views of the famous Oia sunset and the caldera (from two decks!). Everything was tasteless & elegant! a special mention and thank you to the front desk staff—they were gracious and helpful. And the porter was terrific too.

GermanyNothing not to like about the hotel, but everyone has to be aware that Santorini is nothing but steps. All hotels, restaurants, shops, and sights are based around steps. This is not a complaint about the hotel at all. Just be prepared for steps.
Everything was amazing. We booked the “Honeymoon Suite” because I had always wanted a cave pool and we were celebrating our 20th anniversary. It was the most amazing room and the staff made everything so special. We arrived to a chilled bottle of champagne, a gorgeous bouquet of fresh flowers, a full complementary mini bar, a coffee bar, a gorgeous balcony overlooking the caldera and so much more. They also booked us the best table in their restaurant to watch the sunset. They went above and beyond in every way imaginable. The price of the room was an incredibly fair price for the luxury you get and the best service on the island. I can’t say enough about the place. Be sure to arrange transport upon your arrival. The hotel took care of it for us upon request and it saved so much frustration and stress when we arrived.

United KingdomAbsolutely can not fault Fanari Villas, our stay was amazing. If you are not familiar with Santorini in general however, there are a lot of steps. We went with a 9 month old and hired a car. The hotel staff helped us with our bags which made life a lot easier. During the stay however we barely used the buggy which we brought with us, it is baby carrier all the way as the best way to get about!
We went with our 9 month old and chose to go later in the year when it was quieter. We had an incredible holiday! Staff were brilliant. Very helpful and looked after us well throughout our stay. Location was perfect in relation to the town, the bay and everything is within a short walking distance. Sunsets were stunning and we enjoyed a couple from the heated pool on our balcony.

United KingdomWhile the breakfast is GREAT, they made it sound like it was/is included in the price and it wasn't. But definitely get it! or you are doing your stair-master overly early!
Absolutely wonderful. Particularly recommend the Crows Nest Honeymoon Suite. Much more private than a number of the other villas we saw. Although be warned! You must be fit. Lots of walking up and down. Lots and lots. No way to avoid it unless you don't leave your room (which is possible but we like to explore). The Best and Most Gorgeous stair-master ever. Breakfast is great! And the staff more than lovely.

United KingdomBeautiful location, rooms are amazing, staff are as helpful and friendly as you could wish for. Plenty of food, drink and toiletries included with the room - it's nice that these are not extra charge like most other hotels. The restaurant offers first class food with a first class service, and of course the views.

Fantastic view throughout the day and night, with no obstruction or intrusion from any outside visitors, compared to crowds hanging out at OIA all other alleys and locations, especially around sunset time

United StatesNothing.
I thought booking hotels in front of blue dome would be great but i am glad I didn’t. You don’t want to be in crowds of tourists all day & all night even though yourself is the tourist. Fanari V is the perfect location to take pictures early morning at blue dome area (3 min walking distance) yet you don’t have to be with the crowds all the time since the villa is slightly hidden. We went to sunset dinner at kastro rated great by trip advisor but ended up having the worst sunset view because crowds were blocking the view. Sunset dinner at the hotel restaurant was the best because once again you are away from crowds. Public cannot access the road in front of hotel restaurant, so you can really have romantic sunset dinner. It’s facing historic Oia castle and breakfast with the view is magnificent. Breakfast buffet is not just toast and coffee. It’s more like full lunch buffet. Breakfast alone will cost you 100 euro a day if you had to eat out, but it is included. Room has bath tub, fluffy robe and comfy slippers. The staffs were incredibly attentive and accurate arranging transportation and recommended restaurants reservations. The guy at breakfast “Sakis “ were so nice to take pictures for me when he was busy, and he gently advised not to put phone to take time lapse pic on the fence because it can fall and hit others. He told us in a gentle respectful way not scolding. Such a gentleman. Front desk lady Tanya was great arranging things for us and kindly changing times for taxi without getting irritated. Top notch service with class & grace.
