Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDeluxe room was not deluxe and had a view of a side street with bin collection lorries.
Breakfast was good apart from the fact they dont know how to make a cup of tea. The view made up for it. We found out afterwards that we could have got breakfast for half the price just around the corner.

CanadaUpon arrival, we were pleased with our accommodations at Ciel Athens. The staff were immediately helpful with any questions we had as tourists, being sure to remind us of the culture around us in Athens. The access to central locations like a wide variety of restaurants and shops is its best highlight. Many markets, souvenirs, and more to see around. An easy walk from the train station (best transportation from the airport), and a short walk to sights like the Acropolis. Additionally, the rooftop bar/restaurant is a very modern location with a beautiful view over the city. Although we didn’t take advantage of the food offerings, there was a variety for many diners. The room we had was spacious for two of us, but could easily have slept another guest. The amenities like a tiny kitchenette were convenient for drinks and food from the super market, with tons of spacious closet space. There were no directions on how to access the safe for storage, so some more accessible instructions on that would be great. Very minimal outdoor noise or disruptive guests were around which made it easy to rest after a busy day. Leaving the location is smooth, as it is right beside a local road for taxis or transfers to access guests easily so they may get to their next destination - whether it be an airport, bus stop, or ferry port. We would definitely recommend this location for people interested in being in the heart of Athens and for a convenient yet comfortable hotel to call home temporarily.

AustraliaWe wished there was an area to relax and lay down (other than the room). Perhaps a lobby with couches or a day bed area on the rooftop.
Amazing location, modern clean rooms.

KuwaitOnly one elevator always busy, No mirrors in the rooms. I was given a standard room for the first night. Although I paid for a junior suite and supposed to be upgraded to a senior suite according to booking.com When I objected I was transferred to a junior suite. You have to pay for the luggage storage. Small rooms, very tiny toilet and shower area.
Location is perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff . Hotel very clean. Supermarket few steps The roof restaurant is excellent.

AustraliaThe lift. People staying at the property should have priority over people going to roof top bar. Very difficult to use lift and really hard when you had luggage
Loved the view. It was an amazing room and very comfortable

RussiaIn fact, there is no elevator (in one existing elevator is always a long queue from the customers of the restaurant located at the roof :) Room is smaller than expected (no space even for closet for the clothes. But we stay just for one night, so it wasn’t great problem for us.
The room is clear. Good location.

United Arab EmiratesThe accommodation is steep and has a small elevator, probably only for luggage purposes, not to rely on for people moving due to its lack of speed. We used the stairs for luggage as we had to wait so long for the loft to be available.
In Plaka itself. Very good location. Close to Acropolis area and many restaurants and shops. We had two rooms. The Acropolis view from 3rd floor is with a large water tank in the view. 4th floor is clear and much better.
