Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe mattresses were quite uncomfortable.
Fantastic place! We had a room with an amazing view. It was close to a supermarket. Had a very nice restaurant downstairs. And a place to hire a motorbike nearby.

GermanyWe (Jo+me) stayed here in April for one week and enjoyed our time. The apartment immediately gives you the feeling of being on holiday. Kitchen is basic equipped and good enough to cook a proper dinner. Our room had a big closet, which is nice. Infront of our studio we had a little sitting area for us. Perfect for having breakfast outside! Myrties is a small village. You will only find restaurants there. But next to Myrties is Masouri, which you reach in a 5min walk. There are small supermarkets, little shops for climbers and tourists and a lot of places to rent cars, scooters, Atvs. You can manage moving around by walking, but to see the island I would recommend to rent a scooter for at least a day. It is about 10€/day at all the rental places. From Myrties leaves a boat every half an hour to the the small island Telendos, which is 10min away. It costs 3€ per way and Telendos offers climbing routes and a hiking trail. Soo, all in all we loved our stay on Kalymnos and in Avra Studios. In the evenings you can watch the sunset either from little stairs at the sea infront of the house or on the way to Masouri at some of the many restaurant places.

ItalyUnfortunately many mosquitoes during the night. Also, some basics like hand soap or dish soap and a sponge were lacking. However, considering also the price I would definitely recommend it!
Incredible position right in front of the sea! The room was cute and comfortable and had everything which was advertised

GermanyThe host was really kind and it felt familiar to stay there. I had a great balkony with sea view and directed to the island Telendos with amazing sunsets! I had a good time over there. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and you have a supermarket and waterstation close by. Good for persons that want it a little bit quieter. Climbing sektors are in a distance of 15-30mins

United KingdomThe fridge didn't get very cold. It was quite noisy too.
The hosts were lovely and so were the sweet treats. The room was cleaned and linen changed regularly. The outside patio of room 6 had a lovely grape vine canopy. The apartment is attached to Smugglers Restaurant but wasn't noisy at night. And the white snapper in the restaurant was delicious.

FranceWe never saw the owner of the hotel, the restaurant employees helped us. When we arrived we were given the choice between a room without a window or one with a tiny balcony (so no view of the sea but of the swimming pool of the hotel next door) because we had booked our stay via booking. A few cockroaches and no wifi during the stay.
Next to the sea and good location on the island. The restaurant staff below the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The mattresses are comfortable and the place is quite quiet. The equipment is outdated but does the job.

IrelandLocation was the only plus to an other wise bad hostel.
Nothing. Noise from the toilet kept us up all night when flushed upstairs. Place was so basic like student accommodation and staff were useless. We paid for a room with a view but didn't get one and when we question why they blame booking.com I would never stay here.

This was a trip down memory lane for my Partner. We knew the room would be basic and nothing like the ritz. This was more about memories and nostalgia then anything else. It lived up to those expectations.

United KingdomI usually don't leave negative feedback, trying to be considerate and understanding but this is not possible to be ignored. I was very disappointed on arrival. I arrived around 6-7PM. There was no sign with the name and even the taxi driver was confused and went around to ask if he brought me to the right place. Once I found it and walked towards the building I saw a sight "Office" on one of the windows, it was closed with curtains on and the opening time written was until lunch. Nobody was there PM, nobody met me. The studios are attached to a restaurant, I went and asked and a staff member, obviously informed by the manager, told me to get myself into room 3, on the ground floor. They told me I'll be staying there for two nights and then I'll be moved to another room which I initially had booked. I booked a studio with a balcony and view for 14 days on Booking.com more than six months ago. Understandable, I wasn't very happy. I called on the phone number provided on my booking, succeeded after a few trials and I was told by a lady the same information about me staying for two days downstairs until my room gets vacant because at the moment it's occupied. No apologies, I just had been informed. I didn't have much choice, I was too tired to argue or to find another place so I decided to stay Later the lady cleaning the place told me that was the manager I was talking with and she is her sister, but I never even met or saw her. After I moved to my proper room, apart from the good things I mentioned above, I found out that the noise from the kitchen of the restaurant was almost constant. It was banging and knocking most evenings until 10PM but some evenings even later. Also there were so many mosquitoes, I had bites all over, everywhere. I counted ten bites on my face only when I went home and I have photos of them.
I liked the location, not too far away but not too close to the main area, literally on the beach. The view from the balcony was nice and there were wooden doors and windows that make the room completely dark so you are not disturbed by the light if you want to stay in bed late. The lady cleaning and maintaining the place was very kind and sweet even though she doesn't speak English. She was just great! Cleaning, washing, tidying rooms every day, spotless. She even left some cake and biscuits on a few occasions. The room has basic kitchenware and my room had two fridges which was very convenient. The bed and the mattress were comfortable and because I was myself only, the size of the room was good, not sure if there are two people though but it's okay to meet basic needs when you are on a climbing holiday.

ItalyThe rooms are far too small for a winter sojourn, but maybe in summer, you spend most time outside, and the situation is different. The furniture and equipment, although fully functional, are "minimal", to say the least. The kitchenette and the shower need a significant upgrade.
The studios are very close to the climbing area, which is a good starting point for many trekking excursions, with a breathtaking sea view and plenty of room for car parking (more precious than gold in Kalymnos). You can appreciate the legendary Greek hospitality at Avra Studios: the owner Ms Katarina came daily to clean and make up our room and sometimes brought us her homemade pita bread and Christmas cookies. She was very supportive throughout our stay and made us feel genuinely welcome.
