Mario was the best host. Very well spoken. Explained everything to us. He even upgraded our room with a jacuzzi for no additional charges. Location overlooking the Caldera was incredible. Room was clean, staff friendly. Breakfast served to room was fantastic. Plenty of eateries outside the resort to try. We walked to Oia which took 2+ hours. If you do the walk it is a challenge.

Amazing views. Lovely Room and nice bed. The information from Christos was invaluable and made our stay on the island amazing. Do not miss having dinner at the hotel Taverna. The food is amazing and Christos and the sommelier chose amazing Santorini wines to accompany our meal. 5 star experience!!!

Absolutely nothing

EVERYTHING. Location, View, Room, Private pool, Swimming Pool. EVERYTHING IS ON POINT. I had people passing by and asking me the price of this hotel. Everyone was fascinated by it.

Some suites are more private than others - ours was great but some weren’t as much. Small but pretty pool was pretty cold by mid September. It’s not cheap - but you get what you pay for and this was amazing overall.

Hard to describe how great this place was. Beautiful suite. Highest point on the santorini rim - you actually can see sunset on the ocean horizon over the other islands in the caldera. Staff was incredible. Much quieter and peaceful than other rim towns which is a huge deal. Breakfasts were great on your outdoor veranda.

The only negative, is they left the bar so high, that from now on, every other hotel experience won't ever feel complete.

The best guest experience EVER!!! The are not enough compliments I can give to describe our stay. Every detail to make you feel comfortable and special is there. Apart from the great location and facilities I dont want to give  many details, not to spoil any guest surprise when the get there! Like for us that chose them out of the bunch from booking, and really hit the jackpot here! A word apart for the staff that are really great, and specially the owners Mario and Christos who run the place and give their customer's a really friendly royal treatment!  If you believe as I do that hapiness is really achieved on experiences, this is the place to go!

Absolutely perfect location! This area is very quiet with quick access to restaurants. Easy walk to the capital city which was very busy and had a lot of retail offerings. But this hotels location was the perfect location.

That we couldn't stay another whole week.

From the moment we arrived and Christos greeted us with a drink and took us through the induction process we were in Paradise. I've travelled the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels. This is beyond doubt the best hotel I've ever stayed in. That's down to the staff that make you feel special. The view from the honeymoon suite over the caldera is the best. The room was stunning with a private jacuzzi. Breakfasts are awesome. When we had problems with our online flight booking, Michael, Cristos and his twin brother Mario were so calm and helpful. Thank you for making our belated honeymoon absolutely perfect. There is no English word to describe the experience, but there is a greek word meraki.

All the staff was amazing! Very quick to reply to any requests, suggested plenty of things to do and places to visit. The rooms were incredible with amazing views from the balcony and plunge pool. The VIP room really does make you feel like a VIP The photos do not do this place justice. The hotel is even nicer than it appears, especially the Private Suite. It looks small in the photos but it's actually more than spacious enough!

We were genuinely sad to leave this hotel

Oh my goodness, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Just book it! My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and opted for the room with the private jacuzzi and I’m so glad we did. Unlike other hotels we had walked past in the alleyways, you are not overlooked here as the hotel is very private behind its own walls and doors. In saying that the location is also excellent, amazing views of the sunset, the iconic white buildings and you’re so close to the blue domes you can enjoy the view without the tourists or queue. You can walk everywhere and there’s also parking close by. The rooms, very comfy, quiet, spacious and having the breakfast delivered to your balcony was unreal. There’s even a beautiful quaint restaurant at the base of the hotel which you must try. The most important part were the staff. Every single member made us feel very welcome and comfortable, we received amazing recommendations and they even went to the effort of booking restaurants for us. The only bad part was having to leave.

We had the VIP Suite which is spacious and very well placed with view to Thiera. For more private experience we would propose the private suite or the honeymoon suite. The room was great and the windows and everything is new and high level. Air condition is working well and WiFi is perfect. The pool on the top is great and one of the highest points in Santorini. The team is amazing and always helpful. They also helped us to organise flowers, cake and balloons for birthday.

The property and staff were so amazing that it made me regret not staying in Santorini for longer.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. The room kept the rustic charm, but had modern renovated bathrooms. The views are beyond incredible, literally from a postcard. Our terrace had a hot tub and breakfast with views overlooking blue domes with Fira and the caldera in the distance. The staff was amazing! They helped plan out an itinerary for our short stay in Santorini and gave many recommendations for places and restaurants worth checking out. I can't remember his name, but the man who handled our reception was an absolute professional. Best check in experience I've ever had. Skip out on staying in Oia or Fira, this hotel in Imerovigli (which is a quick scenic 15 minute walk to Fira) will be the highlight of your trip. There's also a fantastic little restaurant on the property.

Everything. Our stay at Altana was the best part of our Santorini vacation, a fabulous place, spacious room, amazing view.. we would like to return to! The Altana team was amazing, very nice and helpful all the way. My wife and I spent a lot of time choosing our hotel in Santorini and we couldn't have chosen better. From the moment we arrived when the co-owner Cristos helped us with our bags and gave us a tour of the place and Michael (could be Michaelos apologies!) gave us a detailed overview of the island and provided fantastic insight into things to do and places to visit we knew this was the correct place. We spent 4 magical nights in the VIP suite, we visited Oia and Thira on separate days but always rushed back to our room in the hotel because of how great the view was and how fantastic the outdoor plunge pool was. Every single member of staff was extremely helpful during our stay, the food and the drink from the bistro was as good as any we ate in our stay in Greece. The view from the hotel cannot be described, it must be experienced. For the first time in our lives my wife and I will be returning to a hotel for a second time, that's how good this place was. Thank you to Cristos, Michael and the whole team at Altana for making our Honeymoon the one we dreamed of - Nathan and Erin
