Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast could have been more varied but I only spent 3 nights so didn't mind it entirely.
Location was excellent. Walking distance to most of what I wanted to see.

United StatesThe room was quite small. We had reserved the room for 4 people. Unfortunately, one couldn’t come so we only had 3 in the room and it was still tight. Small bathroom as well. The beds weren’t terribly comfortable but the biggest complaint was that the air conditioning didn’t work well. Air conditioning was a must for the 83-year old we had with us and the unit wouldn’t cool the room well and the fan wouldn’t even stay on continuously so it would shut off and then turn on all night. One night it came on and made a horrible noise waking all of us.
The location was great! Right by the Plaka and an easy walk to many historical sites in Athens! The people working there were very nice and always greeted us with a smile. Included breakfast was very good.

United KingdomBreakfast was a little disappointing: we enjoy the wonderful Greek continental breakfasts with fresh rolls, crusty bread and bakery goods from local bakeries, so were disappointed to be given a basket of sliced supermarket bread. However, it’s a trivial point in an otherwise enjoyable stay at the hotel.
A small, boutique hotel in a historic mansion, decorated inside in a quirky manner with old objects, paintings and bric-à-brac. The location is excellent, on a quiet pedestrian street in the beautiful Plaka neighbourhood and only a short walk to many of the historic archaeological and other sites, including the Acropolis, as well as to the nightlife and restaurants. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean (and indeed was cleaned every day during our stay). All the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay in Athens if you are looking for a comfortable pension style hotel close to the sites.

IsraelThe room was a bit dusty, had a broken window and the AC wasn't big enough for such a room in the hot summer (around 33-37 Celsius).
A family runs the hotel, which makes it warm and caring. The staff is very nice and welcoming and the owner himself was very fond of us and we enjoyed a few small talks. Location is exceptional, lots of food, drinks around and easy to walk from there to any main road. Value for money was good, 400€ for 3 people for 3 nights is a good price. Would come back!

CanadaDecor is a bit drab, but it adds to the uniqueness of the hotel. At first the memorabilia sitting around makes it look messy, but it shows the history of the family and their passion.
Cute little hotel. Clean, comfortable. Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Busy area, but since it's off on a small street it was very quiet. If you walk up to the 4th floor and open the shuttered window in the hallway, the Acropolis is in full view. Bonus!

Czech RepublicThe location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic, right in the centre, just a short walk from all the main sights. The room is small, but enough for an overnight stay. The breakfast is served, but absolutely sufficient. The fair-haired lady was absolutely wonderful, always very nice and helpful and very quick in serving breakfast. The dark-haired lady could have smiled more and been quicker at serving breakfast, but we weren't in a hurry to get anywhere so we didn't mind. Overall the stay was very pleasant, I highly recommend it to everyone.

AustraliaThe hotel is very atmospheric and in a great location, close to transport, shops and fantastic restaurants. The staff were very helpful and charming. You also get a good breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in an upstairs room and it had a nice window looking down into the pedestrian street below.

United StatesThe breakfast wasn't fabulous comparatively, but they packed us a breakfast for the road. That was very nice of them.
The room was lovely and unique for those of us who love antiques and history. The bathroom was nice and clean. The breakfast room was a bit tight. Breakfast was nice and filling, but not as interesting as other hotels. I would stay there again.

United StatesI got a little frustrated with the communication about payment. I was told several times it was cash only, then when I went to pay, they said they were only taking card. Not bad, just annoying.
I liked the location and the rate. The room was just what I needed and was cozy. The breakfast time was very nice and simple, with nice touches from the proprietor. WiFi was very good and fast. Very grateful for the luggage storage before and after check-in!

BelgiumThe caretakers were really friendly and welcoming. We had to take an early morning ferry at the port and they were kind enough to book a taxi for us and also packed breakfast for the journey. The breakfast at the hotel was simple and the orange cake was delicious. Compliments to the room service team for their fantastic housekeeping! Very safe area and quite close to Syntagma square and lot of restaurants close-by. It was bustling with life even at midnight. Overall recommended!

HungaryThere were some small things but none of them worth mentioning. If you want to discover Athens and look for a cozy accommodation, this hotel is for you! It is worth the money if you would like to spend 2-3 nights in the city.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed - although a second small pillow and a double bed would have suited better my needs, but it was not a huge problem. :) There were a small fridge in the room that I really appreciated. Breakfast was the same every day, but it was fine for starting my day. The lady serving breakfast was guest-oriented, and on my last day, she prepared me a little box as I had to leave before the breakfast started. The hotel itself is situated in a nice and calm street, and all of the main attractions were reachable by foot within 5-10 minutes.
