Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomProbably due to the boat being docked in a marina, it smelled strongly like diesel fuel when opening the windows. The owners had recently painted the interiors of the rooms so they also smelled strongly of paint. If you’re not used to being on a boat, it is a unique experience but if you have motion sickness, then the constant rocking of the boat might not be ideal. Due to boat size, there was a no excretion policy on the boat and nor shower facilities on the boat so you had to make your way to the communal facilities in the nearby Marina bay hub about 40/50 metres away so you really need to do a little bit of daily planning - definitely pack some sandals so you make the small walk there! I think the city tax was advertised on booking.com as included within the price, however, me and my friend were charged £6 per person per night when we checked-in which as a result was somewhat unexpected.
The boat was located within walking distance of the airport and thus were close to the border. The owners were friendly.

United KingdomThe use of a toilet was off-site if you wanted more than a pee!! Although good facilities a short walk from the boat.
Amazing views of the Rock . Excellent liaison and communication with the hosts prior to the arrival. Great voucher provided for breakfast the following morning at a nearby eatery. A unique stay. Will return.

United KingdomShould you have any mobility issues you may wish to think about your stay as it is a boat.
Great location, good facilities, friendly and accommodating staff. Great stay, loved socialising with the other guests. Very welcoming atmosphere and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Recommended.

SpainLack of security. Locks only on inside. The port security was non existent. We got given a key card, but the doors were tied open. Anyone can easily come aboard.
Loved our cabin. The honesty bar was excellent.

The location was gorgeous, hosts looked after us super well and the showers weren’t far at all from the boat - the top deck is gorgeous to sit there for a drink and relax x

SpainThis is the home of the owners, and understably, they dont appreciate guests coming back in the early hours of the morning.. on our last night my son, who I hadn't seen in 6 years, wanted to spend some time with us it was to our bad we didn't realise quite how small the boat was..and we apologise for waking other guests ..also to shower and poo you have to go to the communal block I am pretty sure it wasn't on the details we looked at to book.
It is a delightful and fabulous location, and in hindsight, it is probably best to book the whole boat

United KingdomAs stated in the description the showering facilities are not on site, they are a short walk away, they are very nice but no hot water during our stay unfortunately. Not an issue for us but just note that it is a relatively small space with steps on and off the boat so maybe not best for those with mobility issues
Lovely hosts. Great views from the back deck of the boat. Good location in the Marina near bars/restaurants and just a 20min walk to the airport.

United KingdomVery little space to move around in the room or to keep your bags; The bed is too high in the biggest room of the boatel, making it a bit cumbersome; but i suppose that was unavoidable it being a boat, and the bed being on an already raised area. Being a small room, the step to the bed is where one always tripped and was rather annoying. The room had stairs leading to a terrace, and we kept the hatch open for fresh air; as it got really warm ( in April). A fan was provided, too. All in all, a pleasant , serene boatel. We had a good time.
That it’s a boat; in the protected marina, and only people on the boat have access to the private area. Lovely balcony overlooking the rock; however we hardly had time to truly enjoy it ; clean, equipped kitchen. There were no taxis at the airport and we had to walk to the boat- something we did not enjoy in the blistering Sun with a large bag to drag. Johnny was kind enough to come get us when we were a bit lost. It would be nice if lodgers were given Taxi telephone numbers in advance. There are Excellent, buzzing restaurants on the marina. Tracy is a wonderful lady. The shower and toilets are some distance away; and though it wasn’t an issue for me; it was for others; so if you’re someone who needs to go frequently or have IBS; think before you book. However, they are good, spacious bathrooms - usually clean in the mornings, but not cleaned enough between people using them.

The location at the marina was ideal, and just a short walk from the centre of town. The living area is nicely decorated and cosy, and I like the provision of alcohol and the honesty box.
