Bondo and his wife were amazing hosts we had a wonderful time and the best food. If you don't have 4x4 he will be there to give you a lift to the house from vardzia car park.

You need an SUV to get there but you can also be picked up in front of the sight.

Incredible Location you will never get closer to the people in Georgia than there and you are right at the sight. The landlord is very very nice..showed us around and the abandoned village. Unfortunately he does not speak English. His wife cooks very good food. The rooms are perfectly adequate for one night. Further on, the landlord drove us up the steep hill at the sight.

Bondo and his wife have been extremely nice. Bondo picked us up in Vardzia (the road to reach the village need a 4x4 car) and we were welcomed with a really good and genuine dinner with many homemade things and fresh veggie from the garden. The room was extremely clean and bathroom really modern. Bondo made for us a tour of the small village too and they took care of us as we were friends or family. Sleeping here it’s really like being at home. We could communicate in Russian with Bondo without any problems

If you are looking for an authentic Georgian experience, this is the place, the couple running the place were extremely warm and friendly, the food was amazing and made fresh everyday. the room was spacious and clean and the surroundings were amazing. I highly recommend staying there.

The property was in a fantastic location with an amazing view. It was also very cosy. Food was great. It was super convenient for visiting Vardzia.

It was a bit difficult to find the location. The first picture is not the view from where you stay, so it was confusing. You actually stay BEHIND the Vardzia mountain. This was still amazing for us. This place requires a 4x4 vehicle, and offroad driving experience. However, ბონდო (Bondo, the owner) actually offers to come down and get you from the parking lot at the Vardzia base if you don't have a 4x4, or don't feel confident to drive up that road. Fortunatley, i was already on a 4x4 and love offroading :) If you want to get there yourself: When you arrive to the Vardzia Base, there is a parking lot at the end and an unpaved road just left of the parking lot. Take that road, and later you will come to a fork, so just sick to the left. You may also see a couple of dogs which definitely guided us to the right place. Something that may also be complicated to some English-speakers is that Bondo does not speak much English. My wife is Georgian so everything was a lot easier through her. But if you have some good communication skills and make good use of body language, it should be okay.

The place is absolutely lovely and has a true local feel to it. I loved the nature surrounding the area in the morning, and ბონდო (Bondo, the owner) is a true sweetheart. He tended to me and my partner to make sure we were comfortable and showed us around before heading to Vardzia. Read below: We woke up at 7am, had coffee, and he took us on a "tour" around the 12th century settlement behind Vardzia, so you can see how the slightly-underground homes looked back then. He then walked us around his wide apple fields, and some exclusive land to view the valley, river and mountains. When it was around 9:15, we headed back, and were met with a huge breakfast. Everything worked out because Vardzia opens at 10am, so we just left with great views, history, and a full belly to then see Vardzia and have lunch by the nearby river afterwards. Definitely one of our best stays during our trip to Georgia. Bondo also sells local honey, wine, and other local goods if you're interested! :)

I would advise no one to stay: 1. The access road was a 1.5km dirt road for 4WD only. But it was advertised as having "free parking onsite". The owner had to drive us in his Jeep back and forth!: I was lucky I had a Georgian SIM card so I could call! 2. The older owner spoke no English, the younger only a few words. If I hadn't known some Russian, I would have had no way to communicate! These two items make this place completely unacceptable, no matter how nice the owners may have been otherwise, and the facilities were adequate otherwise.
