Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaNice room with two single beds, apart from that its comfort met our expectations. We enjoyed a lovely, wholesome dinner in the garden. As with all accommodation in the region, dinner is 30 Lari and breakfast 20 Lari per person.

PortugalBefore I arrived I sent a message to get some information on transport prices to Ushguli. The only response I got was 200 Lari, when in fact it costs 50 Lari. I should have cancelled at that moment. They didn't message me with any information about the property. After I got there I selected my room, then went to explore Ushguli when they sent me a message accusing me of being inside the room and deliberately not opening the door. The room was mouldy, the water pressure in the shower is close to zero and the lights flickered non-stop like I was in an Exorcist film. They blamed the lights on an electrcity problem in Ushguli, but you can see from previous reviews this is normal and they don't bother to fix it. By the time I was provided with an electric lightbulb it was too late to get any work done. There was no wifi connection I could see on my mobile phone or laptop. I didn't see a restaurant and wasn't told there was one there. I didn't see a bar and wasn't told there was one there. I didn't see a barbecue. There is no bath. There are no soundproof walls, you can here everything they are doing and saying in the next room including opening doors which is extremely noisy. There was no alarm clock. I had to ask for a towel there wasn't one in the room. There was no microwave. There was no minibar/fridge. The dog barks like crazy at 4am. There was only a paper thin blind, so the sunshine comes through the window at full force at 6am. I am not sure what I did to these people in a previous life, but they treated me with contempt before I even arrived. Maybe if I was Georgian or spoke Russian it would have been a different story. I learned the hard way that there are many people in this part of Ushguli that treat tourists like dirt (Panaroma Hotel Restaurant). Do yourself a favour, forget about the private bathroom and stay in the centre of Ushguli at a guesthouse where they will treat you better.
The mattress was good. The view from the window of the mountainw was nice.

GeorgiaDisgusting. For some reason, we were given a room with mold, the daughter of the hotel owner and her girlfriends had fun all night in the next room, there were also problems with light and water.

HungaryThe water pressure was a bit low, but it was okay for a quick shower.
The view from the guesthouse is excellent and the house has a balcony from where you can watch the sunset. The owners are very helpful and kind. The room was simple, but clean with mountain view. We did the Mestia-Ushguli 4 days hiking trail, trying different guesthouses along the way and we found this one the best of all.

United StatesLoved everything
Our plans changed last minute but they were able to accommodate us on short notice. It was the perfect stay after a long trek. The family welcomed us into their home like we were actual family- so friendly and hospitable. The home cooked meal was so tasty. It was one of the best meals we’ve had at a guesthouse! The room and private bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The view from our window was incredible! Best home stay in Ushguli! Beautiful family! We loved them. We highly recommend.
