Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe arrived at the hotel at 2.15pm and couldn't check in until 3.00pm. For an early check-in, the hotel charges £10.00 per person. The vending machine prices for water and crisps in reception are extortionate prices! No tea or coffee facilities are provided in the room.
Very central location and close to the tube. The room was very clean, and towels and toiletries were supplied. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

United StatesA real wall between the beds (clearly intended for two people) and the bathroom would have been really nice. The absence of windows worked against our adjustment to travel time changes. The frugality of the amenities was near punishing, though perhaps glasses, a hair dryer, and enough towels would have been provided if we asked for them. We never did have the breakfast, because we would have had to have arranged that beforehand (not convenient) and it seemed to be served in a bar, which was not appealing. I also didn't like being greeted on arrival with information about how much I would be charged for early check in, and then being charged 45 pounds for having them hold two suitcases and a carry-on until we could check in, after 3 pm.
The hotel is modern, eco-conscious, and extremely quiet, despite it's central location. Our room was immaculate and the thermostat worked. Some of the design was pleasing, and the shower was super.

United KingdomThe hidden charges with luggage- I was unwilling to pay the surprise charges for storing my luggage prior to check in and after check out. My flight wasn't til later on so we weren't going to haul suitcases about London all day. A total money racket. My daughter and I were booked in for a west end show before check in time and were informed we would have to pay £15 per bag to store qt the hotel before check in time, with the alternative option of paying for an expensive early check in. I've never heard the like of paying for storage ever!!! In the end up, we paid for an independent (much cheaper) storage locker in the city but this was leaving us both out of pocket and such an inconvenience. If you are choosing this property based on price, please bear in mind the hidden charges on top, which I've since learned also includes the use of an iron and hairdryer. I only discovered the extra charges after I had made the booking. When I noted my arrival time, which was before check-in, I got an email to say check in isn't until 3 but that I could leave my bags for £10 each. Then when I replied that I'd never heard of such a thing, I got another email to say it was £15 per bag. Weird!!!! Make up your mind. More transparency needed around this prior to booking. Furthermore, at the food bit, the guy told me for a "deal", I could buy coffee and a croissant for £5. I asked how much is it if I don't want the croissant. He said still £5, the deal is £5 with croissant. So I paid £5. Only after, did I notice the price list that said a coffee was £3! All seemed a bit weird and underhand. No windows. Toilets positioned high, strangely... Must be to suit people with longer legs. Also 10am check out, too early!!!

United KingdomI just wished there was a kettle in the room to be able to make tea or coffee any time of the day and night during the stay.
Liked the walkability to the Underground Tube as well as to the city centre. It is easy to check in and check out. Friendly and accommodating staff. The room was cosy, and the bed was comfortable.
