Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere’s nothing we didn’t like, the only things we would advise to be improved/changed are the bathroom door and no privacy through the front door
A beautiful hideaway nestled into the country side, dog friendly which was massive bonus points for us. The hosts were lovely, left you to it but popped down to see how we were and if there was anything we needed. All amenities required were there, the land you could walk around was plenty big enough especially with two energetic dogs! The area was perfect location for us to go to Clumber park, Lakeside shopping and locally some lovely little pubs and shops. We can’t wait to return, Thank you Danielle 🙂

United KingdomIt was difficult to spot from the road but not impossible. One of the frying pans had been damaged previously and was unusable, and the knives need sharpening. That's it, otherwise everything was perfect there. But once I reported these, the Landlady was straight down to take care of it. Excellent response.
Beautiful secluded location, the pond next to the lodge is nice, quiet village and wonderful views. Modern little lodge, open plan, spacious and airy. Immediately felt relaxed and at home. Little village nearby has the basics you'd need, co-op if you need to buy groceries, chipshop and the Chinese takeaway was also nice. Not too far from Gainsborough if needing to do a proper food shop also.

United KingdomNo real criticism, would just echo previous reviews regarding lack of directions to property, poorly fitting bathroom door and lack of privacy due to front door and window not having blinds. A microwave would be a great addition.
Peaceful, scenic location. Good quality furnishings. Easy check in. Comfortable stay.

United KingdomUnfortunately the private lane to the accommodation and other beautiful private properties, stables etc was terrible full of pot holes which desperately need filling with gravel, thankfully we travelled in my SUV rather than my partners sports car. Although it's not the sole problem of the accommodation good to be aware of. I suppose to be expected in a rural area, a trade off for a really peaceful pretty location. Sliding door in property although looks lovely and stylish came off its runner with ease and had to rescue my partner so he could get out of the shower room. Again easy to do but definitely need to be aware of. Apologies not informing the host we forgot when we left in the morning.
Beautiful peaceful location, great village nearby. Perfect stay with my dog lovely walk, on the door step from the accommodation exactly what we wanted. The accommodation was lovely, very warm and cosy on arrival. Facilities and décor lived up the expectation from on line info. Wonderful nights sleep feeling refreshed and contented in the morning.

United KingdomIt would have been helpful to have had a sign to clarify which gate led to the property, and a few condiments in the cupboard would have been good too; at least salt and pepper. Otherwise all very good.
Beautiful location, good facilities, comfortable bed and very easy set up for dogs, even a water bowl set down in the kitchen.

United KingdomUnfortunately the 'privacy film' on the main door and window has been applied to the wrong side of the door so, in fact, there was zero privacy, especially at night where those outside could clearly see in. From inside, we couldn't see out. The attached picture was taken from outside when the lights were on. We actually bought some brown paper from the local co-op to tape over the door and windows. Upon arrival, there was no coffee and only a few Earl Grey teabags (which aren't to everyone's taste) - it didn't feel particularly welcoming after a long drive. The host did mention that she'd run out but could get some from her house. We needed to get a couple of things from the co-op, so we got some coffee ourselves. Various items in the kitchen, including the frying pan and mugs, were dirty, so they needed washing up before we could use them. There was no signage at all for finding the property on a very dark country road. We found the property through sheer guesswork. There didn't appear to be any outside lighting either. Although not described, the pictures suggested a usable garden area, but it seemed that it was just an extension of the garden of the main house. Perhaps some clear information on that would be helpful. Decking area pictured was not part of this side of the property and actually seemed to run, in part, directly outside of the sleeping area of this side of the property. The toilet seat does not appear to be the correct one for the pan or perhaps fitted incorrectly.
A beautiful location with access to a pretty canal walk. Very quiet and generally clean.
