    Nothing

Stayed for the 2 nights, fantastic location for what we had planned, lovely little village restaurant/hotel, the food was very good to and reasonable priced also. The room we stayed in was more than adequate for what we needed and had all the facilities you'd needed, would definitely stay again when we plan our next trip to the lakes.

Unfortunately we had a small leak on the 2nd day, above the bed. Whilst they didn't offer another room (likely due to lack of spare rooms) or compensation. The team did address the issue asap and appeared to stop the dripping. But it will need addressing when not so damp.

Warm welcoming staff. Good sized communal and living spaces, breakfast not included in our price but very accommodating to add it in. Good selection of local beers. Nice to have the electric charger.

The bedrooms could have done with a little dusting and there was always water around the toilet.

The location was fantastic for Scafell Pike. The food was lovely and the beds were comfortable.

In need of modernization. I understand the property is very old. However, some modernization would’ve been great. The carpet never fitted the room properly and gripper rod was on show. There were cobwebs in the corners of the room with spiders. There was mildew around the windows and our towels were not changed. We had a 2 night stay and fresh towels and clean tea cups daily should be a minimum.

Very pretty building, good food and friendly staff. Nice bathrooms with decent shower.

It is a tricky route to the Inn. Although the information clearly states that the roads and passes can be challenging. Its best to give yourself time and not be in a rush. The lakes are beautiful and well worth being patient when driving.

It offered everything you could want from a weekend away! Comfortable bed ,spacious room, and bathroom. The TV screen was great to. I booked last minute and was so pleased I did. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Very over priced for what we experienced. I would say this was quite a casual pub which was just what we needed as we were only staying for a hike and we had kids too so we didn't need a fancy hotel. However, the prices reflected something a lot nicer. We paid it regardless as we needed a hotel as close to Scafell as possible and lots were sold out. This includes the food menu in the bar and the packed lunches and breakfast. We had cereal for breakfast, it was lovely of them to leave us milk out so we could grab it early and go but it cost £15 for 2 of us to have a bowl of cereal!! The same went for packed lunches, £15 for 2 of us and it did not include a drink or anything special really just a sandwich made of sliced bread, biscuit and fruit. We had to pay extra for water and crisps on top of the £15. Again , I'd pay that for a nice sandwich in a restaurant and we definitely didn't need anything fancy but price didn't reflect the quality. Our TV signal wasn't great so we didn't get much use from that but we were pretty tired anyway. There was really loud rave music playing through the evening until late one night and then 8am the next morning it was blasting rock music. Good taste- but we had kids to get in bed so it wasn't our kind of stay really. I was under the impression that if we paid a bit more and avoided youth hostels it night be more family friendly.

You had everything you needed, reception was available if you had a question, they made us a packed lunch for our hike the next day, beer garden was good for the kids, staff were accommodating in leaving us some milk in the fridge overnight as we were up earlier than breakfast started for our hike. Lovely that they had some chickens for the kids to look at. Gorgeous surroundings. Fish and chips on the first night was nice.

The bathroom was obviously very new and done to a very high spec, sadly the room was clean but a tad shabby, mould on the walls and curtain rings missing

Location excellent, well kept building, presume they are in the process of upgrading the interior ?
