Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Loved the setting.Lake Windermere walkable in both directions. Gently down hill to main ferries. Bus stop nearby if difficulty walking. The open top tour buses could be accessed from same stop. Many bars & restaurants & shops in both directions. Rooms adequate & comfortably furnished. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits provided & making facilities in room. Lovely dining room for good choice breakfast, 3 time sessions to choose from. Meal really good Staff excellent, polite & took time to answer queries. Elegant sitting room. Bar open but we didn’t use.

United KingdomAlthough the hotel was set in picturesque surroundings with the woods around it and our room was close to a river or stream that was lovely to hear at night time, we just felt the hotel was slightly too far of a walk from the centre and the lake especially if it is a rainy day, not so bad when the weather is nice. Not enough to stop us from staying here again though.
The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff were ALL very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, from the minute we walked through the door, the reception staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The bedroom Was very clean and the beds were really comfortable, a lovely little touch with the chocolates on the bed. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, the full English was probably one of the best we have ever tasted, all the produce tasted really fresh and the food came out piping hot on warmed up plates. The young staff serving our breakfast were so attentive and polite and made sure we were very well looked after. All round beautiful hotel and a perfect stay.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful, we turned up with an office chair we purchased before arriving and were very good to let us keep the chair safe with them for the duration of our stay. The breakfast was delicious and very hot everyday and the staff were very friendly and helpful answering any questions we asked during our stay, they even allowed us to fill our large drinks bottles with ice and water with cordial to keep our drinks cold at no extra cost everyday.

United KingdomBedroom (Glenburn side) could do with a full length mirror. I hadn't realised that the hotel had expanded to take over the previous incarnation "Glenburn" nextdoor. The rooms are nowhere near as nice as the original Woodlands. My mistake, I will need to pay more attention when booking next time to ensure I get a room in Woodlands side.
Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Location is ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness, both just 10-15min walk away and handy to enjoy different bars and restaurants, especially if staying for more than 1 night.

Location. Friendly and accomodating staff. Comfy bed. Warm room as had heating on which was lovely as it was cold outside. Breakfast good. Asked for something not on the menu: scrambled eggs with mushrooms. Top notch scrambled eggs! Thank u chef. Staff provided a breakfast sandwich at our request on 2nd morning and also delivered it to the room. Excellent service!
