A large comfortable room. The building is in a rural setting within its own well maintained grounds, but only 10 minutes drive to the centre of Dumfries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and evening meals were very good.

The house and grounds are truly lovely except for the ugly unfinished extension, which looks like it's been abandoned. It's a shame it hasn't been removed and landscaped. However, the rest is spotless, stylish and well cared for and I'd recommend it / stay there again - so, quite minor in the scheme of things, just unexpected.

We were greeted by very friendly & helpfull staff. Our room was big & beautifully decorated,& a nice big bed. Dinner was great, especially the mushroom soup , & Toffee pudding.

The side of the hotel was an unfinished build bit of an eyesore but the hotel owners and staff were fabulous

There was nothing to dislike.

The staff were courteous, helpful and lovely. The breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and very clean. All in all a very pleasant stay. I would certainly stay there again when in dumfries. The sitting room was also very comfortable.

Bathroom had no handle over the bath, nor a non slipmat. Just a concern for less mobile guests.

Really welcoming and friendly staff. Very comfortable room. Bathroom was huge and had a good size bath with over head shower. Food was great. We had an evening meal at the hotel and it was very good value, good choice of dishes. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, which is fair enough, but are allowed in the lounge, which was cozy to use in the evening.

Everything was great

Wide open space, quiet, lovely trees. The restaurant was outstanding, with freshly cooked very tasty food. The biggest surprise was the amazing value for 3 courses.I recently stayed in a similar standard hotel, with fairly good food, but I paid £15 more for only 2 courses

Room was clean and a good size with king sized bed and two armchairs. Excellent bathroom with plenty of room for comfort. Very friendly and efficient staff. Food for dinner and breakfast was very good and excellent value for money.

Very large rooms and bathrooms with a very comfortable bed. We had a fantastic dinner and breakfast with awesome service. They also supplied parking for no extra cost.

I am always greeted with a warm welcome and looked after wonderfully. Beautiful hotel with generous sized rooms and very clean. Breakfast is fantastic and the quality of the evening meals are exceptional.

Breakfast was fine if a bit old-fashioned! Room was lovely, super comfy and bathroom nice. And we got an upgrade to a suite because we got married that day!! Staff were so kind and generous to do that for us! Room only slightly let down by view of halted contstruction works. But the gardens and surrounds are so lovely - we went out for a walk and explored a little.

Nothing I can think of, only maybe breakfast during the week days could be served till a little later to allow a later get up time for those on holiday!

Beautiful building lovingly restored. Rooms very spacious and very comfortable. Hosts were charming and were obviously proud of their business and home. Food was very good too.
