We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomI cannot fault the cottage. It was to our taste and liking, which is one of the factors for booking 3 nights there.
Sam was a really welcoming owner. He clearly loves the cottage and wants people to share in his love of the place. It has been equipped to a high standard and hopefully like-minded people will book a stay and love it as much as he and we did.

United KingdomWas a smell of damp in the bathroom and kitchen joyed , after having a bath we couldn't remove the plug, the kitchen sink needs looking at as the pipework wasn't connected to the trap so when you empty the sink it leaked into the cupboard and over the kitchen floor. United KingdomDidn’t realise how small it was , low ceilings and steep stairs, my husband hit his head several times ! No warning signs . No information in the house on heating etc, heating went off for 2 nights and we couldn’t sort it. Alan did give us more wood for fire though , but not so comfortable.

United KingdomNoisy bathroom fan. No extension lead for the bedside lamp. No hairdryer. When contacted, the owner said that they had been stolen. Toilet handle broken. No BBC on tv. No tv instructions. Disconcerting that the front door which opens onto the pavement appears to not be locked. Unusable wardrobe and chest of drawers as stuffed full of owner’s possessions. Mucky area around back door. Some milk in the fridge on my arrival would have been welcome

United KingdomThe cottage didn't seem very clean. I had to clean the bathroom basin myself before using it. Some dead flies on the windowsill and floors could have done with a wash. No plug in the bathroom basin. The bed was ok on one side but springs seem to have gone on the other, so partner felt he was tipping out and didn't sleep very well. Pillows are thin and a bit lumpy. Sorry to be negative but these are little things that could easily be improved on.

United KingdomWhen this property is advertised should clearly state how steep stairs are, bathroom on ground floor plus steps into kitchen. Thought this would be a requirement. We were moved to different cottage to the one we booked. Very clean but quiet bare blind in small room not working if blind is fully down in kitchen have to stand on chair to raise again. Finishing touches to refurbishment not quite complete should not be advertised as exquisite and cosy more basic and clean especially downstairs

United KingdomWe had high hopes for this place. Initial thoughts were very nice... until we noticed the TV was propped up on 2 chairs. Untidy wires. Layers of dust on the table legs, spider webs in corners and lots of weeds in the garden. Only 2 tea bags in the kitchen. Plates looked dirty so we didnt use them. A lovely human hair was found prior to running the bath and the bath mat had seen better days. I wouldn't describe this as luxury at the price we paid. You get much more at Travel Lodge. We asked a simply question about the heating on arrival and the owner seemed quite stroppy. I was prepared to let it go and put it down to experience until I received an email from the owner after checkout to accuse us of causing stains on the sofas and chairs and stealing a key which was apparently left in a desk drawer for storage cupboards. Firstly we never cooked in the place and only made tea and certainly didn't cause any stains. Secondly why on earth would we move a key to a storage cupboard when we were only staying for 1 night! Clearly the occupiers prior to us arriving had caused some issues and it was missed. To say I am angry is an understatement. How dare he suggest we caused damage!!! I wont be recommending this place to anyone!

United KingdomHost impossible to contact directly (did not reply to six phonecalls prior to stay or answer messages left on answerphone) . Only access to him was via Booking.com helpline (which was tedious to use). Smart television a nightmare to use. Parking and unloading not easy in the rain. Poor choice of furniture made some areas very cramped and difficult to use.
Excellent location in quiet area near town centre. Wi-fi easy to connect to and use. Genuine small cottage with good conversion to holiday cottage.
