Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The Hut was very cosy, especially having the wood burner on and the location was superb, very quiet and peaceful and SO many stars at night.

United KingdomWe just needed shower gel!
This was truly an incredible weekend on a wonderful farm tucked away in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. Our hosts were incredible. The farm is a wonderful place where excellent work around rare breed, organic produce takes place. We tried some of their own sausages, burgers and pickled gherkins- all of which were incredible. I really want to come back next summer!

Very beautiful and tranquil location. The views were so scenic and absolutely amazing waking up to the clear air and seeing the animals roaming free. The night was lit up with beautiful stars in the sky and so peaceful for a good night sleep. The host were very friendly and welcoming the minute we got there.

United KingdomThe fact that we had to leave and go home!
Everything. An absolutely wonderful, peaceful and beautiful visit. Gleice and her family have created a small bit of paradise in a beautiful and quiet corner of Shropshire. The huts have been very cleverly designed and furnished, with an extremely comfortable double bed, table and chairs, log burner, toilet and basin. The kitchen hut is perfectly equipped with everything you need, and the shared shower is large, warm, light with plenty of hot water. We used the fire pit and the BBQ provided, and we found the whole visit to be so peaceful and relaxing. Gleice has put her personal touch everywhere with the decor and little touches which enhance the whole experience. Farm animals wander about, there are plenty of interesting things to see and do in the local area, and we will certainly be back soon! Thank you so much!

United KingdomThere's not alot open till later in the day .. pubs or restaurants ...you definitely need to drive everywhere .which really didn't bother us that much as we just wanted some quiet time spent at the accommodation. The main thing was the eco toilet after one night it should be changed it didn't smell I just wasn't keen on it just sat there !..
The views are amazing, there's everything you need at the accommodation. The owners were friendly and very helpful. One pub that is open from 12pm was the six bells on the corner of bishops Castle very nice staff very large basket of chips!!

United KingdomThe kitchen could use a bigger frying pan as my bacon wouldn't fit in! No microwave, just a small oven.
Absolutely gorgeous location. Really well-presented, private and lovely views. Comfy bed, clean bathroom and kitchen. Great fire pit and set up really nicely for eating indoors and out. Location ideal. Friendly animals too! The eco-loo was great, no smell, easy to use and lovely and clean. The shower was powerful and hot. Breakfast pack was delicious.

United KingdomNothing. Even the weather behaved..
Absolute peace and quiet with beautiful views across Shropshire. There are excellent walking and cycling opportunities from the doorstep. The hosts were very friendly and helpful but we didn't need anything else during our stay. The cabin is very neat with a comfortable bed and there is a kitchen next door with all you need for making your own meals. I would point out though that there isn't a microwave as it says in some texts, it is a mini-oven/grill. We had no issues though, there are also two gas rings, kettle and toaster and fridge with a box freezer.

United KingdomHonestly they're only little niggles...no microwave but you do get a mini oven and gas hob. Just had to adapt how I cooked, which is no big deal. No bin in the hut so used a carrier bag as a rubbish bin.
Location is superb! Beautiful views and so peaceful. Wood burner for the chilly nights made it extra cosy. Comfy bed with fluffy pillows and duvet. Trevor and his helpers couldn't be nicer! So friendly, helpful, attentive enough not to be imposing but there if you need anything.

United KingdomBecause of our age and mobility we would have liked a level walkway between the shepherds hut and the kitchen. If you are young and fit it will be no problem. Extra coat hooks would be useful. A bath robe would be useful as changing in the shower room can present problems and changing in the bedroom would be easier.
We could not have wished for a better location, and as we don't eat a cooked breakfast we had our usual cereal and bread butter and jam. Having not read any of the reviews we were surprised to find the kitchen area and shower room separate from the shepherds hut.

United KingdomThey didnt know i was coming! Said it hadn't come through to their awareness and so I arrived after 3 hours travelling in the dark to an unmade bed and cold hut. Was apologetic but would of liked some refund for the stress and inconvenience caused. This made me feel very unwelcome and upset and didnt start my stay in the positive way I expected! I bought this trip away as a treat over Christmas for myself. The bedding was not correct for winter temperatures. And didnt sleep well each night. The shower was low pressure but hot and no where to change. Separate from my hut! So is the kitchen separate from my hut. The photos dont show this. Sometimes the heater in the kitchen would turn off. Even tho showing the twitch is on. After the second day my hut smelt of urine & poo from the compostable toilet in my hut. Was given wifi to use but was worse than my one on/off bar reception. So would leave area to be able to use satnav google ect. There seems to be a lonely dog that barks alot early in the morning and at any sense of me moving around the area. I felt sorry for it. All in all I didnt find this a pleasant experience
Log burner was great and able to get a fire going for heat. Pretty cold in middle of winter. My hot water bottle was very useful. Great animals to see cats, ducks, cows and alpaca. Beautiful views and sounds of running water. Everything i needed in the kitchen.

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything we didn’t like! We came prepared and had done our shopping before we got to the Shepherd’s huts - the location is remote so don’t expect any shops close by - this is not a problem if you’ve read the advice from the hosts in the emails you receive to do your shopping beforehand. The approach to the accommodation is many miles of driving along very narrow lanes, however, there is so little traffic on these roads that we only saw 3 or 4 cars the whole time we were there so this was absolutely no problem at all but if you’re a very nervous driver - maybe not for you. The sheep are great alarm clocks - we loved waking up to them bleating away but if you’re the type that likes to lie in until lunchtime, you’d be better off elsewhere!
Absolutely loved our 3 night stay here with my daughter - the hosts Trevor & Glynnis are so lovely and made us very welcome. We were served each morning with a delicious breakfast which included the best sausages I’ve ever tasted! The shepherd’s huts are basic as you might expect but very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and you can cook anything you need to there. I amazing to wake up to the stunning views and just sit and enjoy the peace whilst watching the sheep & alpacas grazing around the pond. We loved it & will hopefully be back 🩷 oh and the organic meat and eggs that is served at breakfast is all reared on the farm and available to buy so stock up before you leave 😊
