Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomRoom at top of building, therefore lots of stairs (no good for anyone who can't manage several floors). Room very hot but fortunately able to open window and turn off radiator. Room is not in White House building but round corner in different hotel. Walls thin but neighbours quiet.
Comfy bed. Nice shower and bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities. Clean. Central location very close to Paddington and Hyde Park. Near all bus and train/tube options. Good value, budget option for one night stay.

Booked hotel at a very reasonable price. Upon arrival there was a notice on door directing us to check in at sister hotel around the corner- and it really is a 30 second walk round the corner. We actually stayed in the sister hotel - I was aware this might happen having read the hotel reviews - no problem. Room was small but clean. Beds comfortable. Bathroom clean and basic. Tea and coffee provided. Excellent location - 5 min walk from Paddington Station with pubs and restaurants en route. Basic continental breakfast provided - bread/toast, one kind of jam, ham, cheese, yoghurt, few cereals but when it's included in the price I'm not going to complain.

CroatiaThis hotel is rugged. The pillows have yellow stains on them and we found hairs in the bathroom. The soap dispenser and the little bin are worn and kind of gross and there are no sockets near beds. The breakfast is very limited and the dining area is too small for all the people so queuing is an option. If you have low standards and tight budget, you'll live, but if you can add fifty £ more to your trip, there's better and cleaner options on the same street.
The location is great, many bus and tube options, 10 min walking to Oxford St. The staff were pretty nice.

Great location. Near to railway and underground Paddington stadion and from where you can go anywhere including Windsor. If someone's interested in tasting fish and chips, go to Mickey's fish and chips place, located in the same street as the hotel. Fair price as well.

Good accomodation for short stays. It is situated in quiet area just 3 minutes walk from Paddington underground station, from where you can reach all London sites. Bus stops are also just behind the corner and Hydepark just 7 minutes walk from there. The room was clean and comfortable.
