Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe breakfast did not quite live up to our expectations, although tasty, the full english is actually bacon and eggs, and the muffin with egg, gaucamole and chile, is a work in progress.
The location is great, but use the name of B&B in google, as the postcode will direct you elsewhere. The room was lovely and the bed comfy. We went for the 4 poster, which had a large bathroom which they don't show in the photos. (might want to reconsider that). Rowena was very welcoming and helpful. The gardens are lovely, and extensive. Maybe a couple of benches would be a good idea so you could sit and enjoy.

Wartling Place is in a lovely rural location but still very easy to get to by car and not too far away from local towns and attractions. The grounds and gardens are beautiful, the house is attractively presented with comfortabe furniture and Rowena was a great host who made sure I was happy and served up tasty breakfasts!

BelgiumNo individual tables for breakfast, you have to share a large table with other guests which is not something everybody likes in the morning!
A truly wonderful place, what you really expect to experience in an English country house. Although located close to the village road, it is an extremely quite place with a superb garden overlooking the fields. The house is very stylish and beautifully decorated with lovely prints on the walls and period furnishings. We had a large superior room with a view on the garden (and the small car park), again beautifully decorated (and not "over decorated") and extremely clean, with a large bathroom. The breakfast was good, however mostly "English" and for "egg-lovers". It was served in a large downstairs room looking out onto flowers and butterflies. Rowena, the charming owner of the place, makes every effort to make guests happy and comfortable.

United KingdomNothing at all. Just there was other guests were very loud in the dinning room when we try to enjoy our breakfast.
The host and staffs are very welcoming and friendly. Rowena (the host) is very helpful and look after us very well. She recommended us so many places to visit and good restaurant you can go to. Even she will offer to help you call the restaurant to book a table. The room we stayed is fantastic. very spacious and clean and comfy. love the view. The Breakfast is very DELICIOUS. And love the fact we were siting in the glamorous dinning room to enjoy the breakfast. We met and had a good chat with a lovely couple from Belgium through the breakfast time.

United KingdomRowena was an absolutely lovely host, very professional and attentive. The accommodation was in a beautiful location, with only a short drive to Eastbourne and a stone's throw from Herstmonceux Castle and The Observatory Science Centre. The bed was extremely comfortable with sumptuous bedding, the room large with a beautiful ensuite. The breakfast order was taken the evening before and was served at the time given. One of the best cooked breakfasts I have had in a long while. We will definitely be staying here again when next in the area.

United KingdomThe water pressure was a little low in the bathroom and we felt that a privacy blind of some sort might be a useful addition to the bathroom.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a large quality bed so we both slept very well. The room faced the road but the traffic did not disturb us in any way. Breakfast was lovely and we appreciated the tips given on where to go to visit and eat. The house is a large former vicarage with huge grounds, both very nice.

United KingdomWartling Place County House, was an amazing place to stay! Brilliant host, who was just an absolute angel. A real pleasure. So kind to let my friend and I stay an extra night quite last minute, and at a more than fair price. She also let myself and my friend stay in her cottage for a couple hours as our means of travel home were a little awkward. She always checked we were okay and stocked on toiletries, water and tea. The breakfasts were fabulous! So tasty! And always on time. Other staff members were also amazing. They ensured my friend who is gluten intolerant had good that was not cross contaminated. Everything about this place was phenomenal. The grounds are beautiful. And the rooms are beyond spotless!
