Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomStayed in the apartments but no lift to get luggage and supplies up if not on ground floor. Old building that could do with a little refurbishment in apartments Be warned quite a steep walk to hotel from town and harbour and taxis not that readily available in the evening
Lovely hotel, very handy for the road train and downhill to the Harbour. Staff very pleasant, entertainment in hotel and next door in sister hotel. Staff in bar very friendly and helpful particularly Tia

United KingdomThe beds were so uncomfortable and our room was located just above the stairs coming from Albert’s so at 11pm kick out time, it’s very noisy and again in the morning with people coming in and out the building.

United KingdomVery disappointed in our bed as it was two single beds pushed together ,never slept properly as we were right by the doors and constant noise from people returning for entertainment , shouting and talking loudly or children jumping off step and shouting!,we had a constant knocking noise all night in our room and we couldn't find where noise was coming from ,me and my husband came away for a break as we have had been given bad news recently and it's been a very upsetting few weeks for us ,that why we booked as we normally have a great time. I wished we moved to another room ,but couldn't afford to upgrade.we booked a break very quickly just days before our arrival as the room only as we couldn't afford the dining package .apart from that we had a great time swimming and walked into Torquay town centre.
Our room was on the ground floor with access to the outside seating area.

United KingdomI chose this hotel for the entertainment but there was not any on this particular weekend it was dedicated to teams that played games. This was going on in the arcade area and the entertainment area.
The room was a good size, the bed was on the small size for a double and the pillows were rock hard and very uncomfortable. The room is dated but clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast was buffet style but fresh and tasty. The entertainment at this hotel is usually amazing unfortunately we chose the wrong weekend. There were skittle matches going on that took over the whole hotel, I will watch out for this next time I book.

United KingdomThe rooms were far too hot, the floor boards were creaky, beds severely uncomfortable, had to keep going to reception for new key cards for our doors as the kept stopping working. Had to pay an extra £10 per night for parking and had to pay an extra £10.95 for each person for each day for breakfast which was quite limited and had cheap sausages and cheap beans, fried bread was so hard had to soften it up with beans and tomatoes, bacon was also really hard.
We had stayed before, they had a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room.

United KingdomSome areas in the hotel are a little tired looking but it didn’t take away from our enjoyment and I understand that the hotel are making improvements little by little.
Facilities are brilliant, the staff were all friendly / helpful and the entertainment was excellent. Food choices were also very good - Alberts Bar in particularly, was great value for money. The refurbished apartments were also much better during this stay. We had a wonderful time and will be returning - thank you!
